Yesterday, someone was saying 49'ers are on the fast track for Stafford currently, will try and dig it up. Rodgers isn't going anywhere unless GB decides they can't afford him. His message was one of MO MONEY.
Yeah I have heard that as well, and that is just not something that excites me. While I think he is an upgrade over Jimmy G, I wouldn't want them to give up much for a 32 year old QB who isn't going to automatically get you wins like someone like Watson would.

If Burrow is irreparably damaged I might be the same. Burrow was the a sign of hope and the future and we let him get devastated before he could finish his first year. Although his rehab looks insane. We was walking completely normally already just a few weeks ago.
I am kinda leaning at being a Packers fan since they are on national broadcasts all the time. However, if Rodgers isn't long for that team and the league, idk if I want to get on that bandwagon.

Fuck the Cowboys , Chefs, and the Bills tho.

be interesting in what happens next, that is for sure

imo rodgers probably is staying put...all due to his current salary being so low(relatively speaking)

ok just looked it up while his CAP hit is large at 37.5 million. , dead cap is 31 million

moneywise.... 15 mil salary 7.3 mil roster and workout & misc is only 870k. 23.2 million. his contract is RIPE for redoing... redo contract increase his salary to ~28-30 million. reduce cap hit by 7ish million due to how it is structured......

he is emminently tradable IF greenbay has a replacement and can get a good deal for him.

imo san fran would be a decent fit...or da bears.... or the patriots, but frankly i think jimmy g will be avail and the pats will have him next year, but that is my opinion.

So, what happens if Brady beats Mahomes?

That would be SEVEN Super Bowls for him, and he would have just beat defending champ and second coming to his throne. Not only that but he would win with another team in another conference. It would be too much almost to imagine. If Mahomes wins he puts Brady to bed and continues his rocketship ascent.

Rodgers is looking for the Patrick price and his Rodgers rate is real bad. Thanks State Farm!

Houston is a shitshow, but it's a HC job, pretty hard to turn something like that down I'd imagine.
Darth Bill had to start in Cleveland. Its a good way to get into the coaching ranks, which we all know is an incestuous money train.

Rodgers isn't going anywhere. And I wouldn't hold your breath on Watson either. While it is nice to dream about, I just don't think they will have the capital to go get him.
Yeah he is headed for a contract restructuring. One that gives him more money, but alleviates short term cap issues. Basically kicking the can down the road and making sure the next QB under center gets murdered. That said, he might be butthurt enough about the NFCCG to walk.

I think it would be a pretty big upgrade personally. I think Shanahan's playcalling is pretty handicapped by Jimmy G's limitations. That wouldn't be an issue with Stafford. Shanahan doesn't need a superstar quarterback, just someone who can stay healthy, read the field, and make all the throws ala Matt Ryan, and Stafford has a pretty good record at all of that. It would be nice if he wasn't 32, but if they can get 4 good years out of him that's all you can really expect before having to do a major rebuild these days anyway. They can probably get him for a single first round pick as well unlike these other guys.

If Brady wins a 7th without Bellicheat by beating the reigning champs (and Big Balls Reid), he'll forever be the Jordan of the NFL. He's already the consensus GOAT for QB's, but he'll even put distance between himself and legends like Jim Brown and Dick Butkus.

I think Stafford and a high draft WR immediately makes 49ers a scary team.

I think they are fine with Aiyuk and Deebo (assuming he can stay healthy), and don't need to spend high on a WR. They really need to get some CB help.

I hope the Bears bring back Trubisky. I could use another year of 8-8.

You dont draft a QB round 1 if you plan to keep paying a max contract QB for 4+ more years.

This is my thought as well, but on the other hand where can he go that the tools are in place to win now that can afford to have him? Tampa already has Brady and he is frankly the GOAT for his lack of greed and how it allows for a deeper roster, as much as anything else. Rodgers is greedier for money and stats than rings. Honestly with Stafford out on the marked, teams are going to look at that and say "well we can save a few bucks on him and still have money to spend elsewhere" compared to Rodgers who (while significantly better) will charge a premium for the difference in QB quality. And then you need a coach who he respects (none exist) or otherwise will simply put up with his ego. That (if Rape Ape retired) rules out Pittsburg and possibly New England (no way Darth Bill puts up with his passive aggressive shit).

Realistically, I see him renegotiating and being a whiney douche for 2 more seasons before becoming a sports caster. Small chance Colts or New Orleans takes a stab at getting him, maybe less so San Fran or New England. And frankly I doubt he has as much success elsewhere because he is all about the numbers on his stat sheet for the most part. We had one good year (this one) of LaFluer getting him to set his ego aside for wins, but that's all over. And make no mistake he IS the best QB of the present, but his window is closing fast and at the end of it all he will go down as a guy with a lot of nice stats (in an inflated era) who has one less SB trip than his hated predecessor. And that SB was a total fluke.

Packer Haters rejoice, because you only have three more seasons of us losing the NFCCG before its back to the 8-8 Don Majkowski era again.

Isn't it a bit of a stretch to say that GB drafted a first round QB as far as the player is concerned? Sure, they used the pick but he more than likely would have dropped to late 2nd early 3rd had they not. I guess will find out what they think of him now that he has a year behind Rodgers

Part of it is I am sue LaFluer was nervous about what happens if AR gets hurt again. We had Matt Flynn for a while who had the game day mojo to win, but after that all the clip board holders were outright dogshit and the team tanked both seasons AR got hurt with them in. But the other part is simple pragmatism to remind everyone the clock is ticking. Remember also at the time we drafted AR he was not a proven commodity as much and had a rep for being easily hurt as a Cal Bear, so I think then like now it was to light a fire under the starter's ass to get winning or get moving on. Also Rodgers pretty much had an off year the year before we drafted Love so I think there was some concerns on the age front that made them pull the trigger on that.

I was not a big fan of them drafting Love, but having lived the entire Favre Era I know AR is not going to be there forever, either. And that was probably our best window to get a serviceable future QB without rolling the dice in free agency. The other direction to go would be to sign a Fitzmagic type guy to be backup and pick up a sorely needed slot reciever or DBs, but those are always crapshoots when you draft them, so I guess we got Love on the bench.
