Yeah it definitely seems like Shanahan thinks he can get something out of Cousins that no one else can. If they go that way I hope he's right. He also seems to love CJ Beathard though and that hasn't gone anywhere.

At this point my hopes are in this order. Trade the farm for Watson, trade the farm to move up and draft Zach Wilson, ride with Jimmy G and hope for the best.

Shanahan has wanted to reunite with Cousins for awhile. Lot of rumors before he left Washington that 49ers would give up a 1st for him.

Yeah, the Cousins shit would be silly, as you're basically getting the same level of play with Jimmy G. Maybe a bit less injury prone, but to offer anything for that? Stupid.

Ross Tucker says Cousins is going to SF and Jimmy G is going back to New England. I guess if you could trade Jimmy back to Belichick for a 2nd rounder and then trade that 2nd rounder to Minnesota for Cousins it sort of makes sense if you really think Cousins is better. Cousins is who Shanahan wanted before they got Jimmy and maybe he still thinks they did that wrong.

If it's a roundabout way to get a direct swap without additional assets involved it seems fine if they like Cousins better.
