I personally wouldn't go out and get Cousins. I gave my preference a few pages ago. Go all in for Watson, all in for Zach Wilson, stick with Jimmy, in that order. If Shanahan seems to think he can get more out of Cousins than he can Jimmy, and can get him for essentially nothing, then I can live with it without bitching too much. At least Cousins has shown he can stay on the damn field.I get it. But why even make the fucking move if you arent going to get significantly better? yeah, they were one throw away from winning the SB, but I just dont understand why you would move on from Jimmy G if you arent going to get better. It doesnt make sense to move on from him if you admit what your getting isnt much better. (And then say its ok because you didnt spend anything to do it.)
Just doesnt make sense you mine as well keep Jimmy G then.
I honestly think I'd consider even giving up a guy like Bosa for Watson. I really wish we'd go after him.I personally wouldn't go out and get Cousins. I gave my preference a few pages ago. It's hard to think about this year as a miracle in terms of injury hehe. He did have some nice plays though.
I saw an early trade rumor that had the 49ers packaging Bosa for Watson, and man that one makes me a bit more hesitant. I get that you are getting a franchise QB, but getting rid of a cornerstone of your defense is a scary prospect.I honestly think I'd consider even giving up a guy like Bosa for Watson. I dunno. The defense was definitely not as good as it was in 2019, but it was more than serviceable. And in today's NFL, you just get so much more for your team out of someone like Watson vs. Bosa.I saw an early trade rumor that had the 49ers packaging Bosa for Watson, and man that one makes me a bit more hesitant. I'm not saying I would be fully against it, but I don't think I would be super excited about losing him either.
What has Cousins shown that makes you believe he would be a better option than Jimmy G?

No, at the moment (assuming healthy) I still think it's Bosa. Don't get me wrong, I love Warner and think he's arguably the best Inside LB in the game (definitely a few others, Darius Leonard, Devon White, Roquan Smith) but Bosa is just on another level. The things he did as a rookie was incredibly impressive, and he will only get better with experience.Im all in for Watson as well. I would be ok with giving 3 1sts and a player (not Bosa, not Warner no matter what)
Is fred Warner the most valuable/highest rated player on the 49er roster?
I would say yes.
Trust me I get your point. I'm not saying I would be totally against it, but the thought of it doesn't make me happy.I dunno. Watt has had injury issues and missed at least half of his games 3 out of the last 5 seasons. That said he played all 16 games last season and had 16 sacks as recently as 2018. He's still a very good veteran pass rusher, but he's not the guy that was the best defensive player in the league before Donald emerged anymore.I agree. If Bosa comes back 100% he is a game changer. The only player on the 49ers that I would be more sad to lose is Kittle. That said, even trading Bosa probably makes sense to get an actual top 5 quarterback. I haven't watched enough Houston games to know that much about Watson but everyone seems to agree that he is elite and not the Lamar Jackson sort of elite that only lasts a couple years if you're lucky.
Is JJ Watt still considered a top talent? If so him and Bosa on the same line would be pretty scary. Too bad there wouldn't be a good team around them.
