Mind you KC held like fucking crazy and were only called for it on the most egregious ones, but still could not stop the rushers from getting home. KC came out flat, which they have a tendency to do late season/post season, but this was the wrong team to do it against. I also think Mahomes was a bit dinged up from the earlier playoff games still. That said, the only part I really attribute to him (and Reid more likely) is they pulled the same shit Rodgers did in the 3rd Qtr against TB, which was to go for home run balls too often. This gives the rush lots of time to murder your QB and with TB basically playing variations on cover 2 to muzzle HIll all night, he should have been doing quick underneath passes. When we (GB) did that we walked it up and down the field on Tampa, but Rodgers just tried to get cute in the 3rd Q and it fucked us out of any chance of overcoming the bad coaching calls.
Tampa just flat out beat the shit out of KC in every phase of the game. Even special Teams, as the KC Punter fucked up and pretty much set up TB to put the game out or reach at one point. Mahomes was not bad, but he was not his normal self either. I think that as as much to do with him actually getting hit (lets face it most AFC teams pass rushes he faced are dogshit) and Reid just being a fucking terrible coach and taking his foot off the gas late in the season. They looked rattled early out there, which is shocking considering they were the defending champions. Tampa looked like they had been there as often as New England, which is ultimately the main thing they got from Brady.
