Chiefs forgot the #1 rule: If Brady isn’t pressured, he will pick your defense apart

Mind you KC held like fucking crazy and were only called for it on the most egregious ones, but still could not stop the rushers from getting home. KC came out flat, which they have a tendency to do late season/post season, but this was the wrong team to do it against. I also think Mahomes was a bit dinged up from the earlier playoff games still. That said, the only part I really attribute to him (and Reid more likely) is they pulled the same shit Rodgers did in the 3rd Qtr against TB, which was to go for home run balls too often. This gives the rush lots of time to murder your QB and with TB basically playing variations on cover 2 to muzzle HIll all night, he should have been doing quick underneath passes. When we (GB) did that we walked it up and down the field on Tampa, but Rodgers just tried to get cute in the 3rd Q and it fucked us out of any chance of overcoming the bad coaching calls.

Tampa just flat out beat the shit out of KC in every phase of the game. Even special Teams, as the KC Punter fucked up and pretty much set up TB to put the game out or reach at one point. Mahomes was not bad, but he was not his normal self either. I think that as as much to do with him actually getting hit (lets face it most AFC teams pass rushes he faced are dogshit) and Reid just being a fucking terrible coach and taking his foot off the gas late in the season. They looked rattled early out there, which is shocking considering they were the defending champions. Tampa looked like they had been there as often as New England, which is ultimately the main thing they got from Brady.

Also I love this -

PS - fuck Tyreek

That is great. That made my morning. Run your mouth and talk shit. Tyreek did absolutely nothing in the SB.

Some are saying it wasn’t a good SB. I disagree. It was a defensive clinic by Todd Bowles. Plus Tampa’s LB crew? d-Line? All 3 levels showed up and wrecked some shit.

Devin White was a huge part of this Tampa defense. His numbers this postseason were ridiculous.

9 points is the least Mahomes scored in his entire career no?

The biggest loser of last night is Tyreek's son. He's gonna pay the price of daddy losing the big game

I don't even know it was so much a defensive clinic. Not like two high safeties against a guy like Hill doesn't happen a lot, you just never expect to be able to get THAT much pressure only having to rush 4. 29 pressures, Super Bowl record, and they only brought more than 4 pass rushers on 2 of those plays. That's ridiculous for your O line to get beat that badly all game. I know they were down 4 of 5 starters in total, and credit to Tampa's D Line obviously...but fuck.

Will be interesting to see what kind of havoc the typical Super Bowl hangover will have on the Chiefs

Well, Jimmy G is already 0-1 in SB so he doesnt qualify.

Its crazy to see the Chiefs fall like this, and then look back at the Niners last year and wonder how they managed to lose that game.

The defense just didnt get it done. KC had an infinitely better oline in 2019 though. Remmers ruined two SB's. he was awful against Von Miller in 2015, and now has given up the most pressures yesterday.

I am at peace with Tom Brady. Yes, 1st half ref calls, injured line, soul crushing timeout retardation ending first half. But I think that dude is unshakeable. After all these years.

fave moment: the victory formation, in next to last huddle, Brady all of a sudden barks out his calls, whole team snaps to focus as if it were 4th and 1. Could not find clip on web. He is in everyone's head, so it is good to be on his side. If anyone finds a clip post it. It's impressive.

And finally, a word of advice to defensive players everywhere:

Should Browns give Baker a contract or take the extension? From a mental health position, since I know the place, I say contract.

Unless they think they can pay Rodgers enough or want in on the folly of the Watson bowl, they should do the extention and in a cap friendly way so he can get some weapons around him. Mayfield is a solid QB and he has proven he can compete, at least compared to the slim pickings out there at the moment. Browns are on an upswing. No reason to screw with that now.

But this IS the Browns. So they will trade Baker plus two #1s for Watson and sink their franchise for another 10 years.

These two quotes was what it was like listening to sports talk radio during commute to work for the past two decades. But they have Stefanski now. Finally, a coach. Fingers crossed.

And the Browns are a unique team b/c of the long suck. I just want them to consistently humiliate the Steelers for 5 or 6 years. Simple man, simple life.

So I guess now the next dominos to fall will be Wentz and potentially Darnold...and see how long Houston really wants to drag out this Watson shit.

Browns would've beat the Chiefs had they stuck to the run. Browns are a legit team with Mayfield. They'd be silly to dump him at their best point as a franchise in almost 40 years.
