Ducks re-sign Getzlaf, 8 years $66 million I'm hearing. Kinda crazy money there. Believe only Crosby/Ovechkin/Malkin make more than that per year. No way they can keep Perry next year with the cap going down.

I wonder if someone told Anaheim that the cap is going down after this season. Having to deal with that number when he is 36 should be fun for them

. Not like Ovechkin has played bad this year, just nowhere near what he should be for that money. I am glad he doesn't have a concussion history though.

They still have 20 million in space left with 15 players signed. Internal cap will be a bigger problem than actual cap.

20 million for 8 more guys shrinks a lot if they're going to try to sign Perry.

Thank you Merrith - the caps beating the ever living piss out of Florida last night gave me a relatively quiet hockey night at home. It was blissful.

Edit: Oh and that vid of the guy going headfirst into the boards seriously made me sick to my stomach. I watched the video before I read that he was a paraplegic, and when I saw the way his head hit I was like, shit that is going to be bad. That's absolutely terrible.

The Ducks are loosing money though and attendance isn't all that good even with high profile players and a good record.
They spend about 58 million now, why would they spend more and lose even more?This leaves them with about 13 million for those players with Perry almost certainly wanting even or close to Getzlaf.
Heres the deal:you kept Getzlaf so Perry goes to the Leafs for Kessel and an autographed Wendel stick(one of those mini ones)

That makes sense. They literally just sent him down to Rockford and basically brought him right back up.

Not a ducks fan so it really doesn't matter to me, but if the Ducks don't resign Getzlaf there's a good chance that next year their first line center is either Nick Bonino or Andrew Cogliano . Who they fuck are they? Exactly.

In other news it looks like the hawks streak ends tonight at the hands of the lowly avs baring 3rd period miracle.

Shouldn't have been a blowout that bad. Their goaltending was just horrific in the 1st period especially (mostly the first 2 goals).
