Nintendo is going to be Nintendo until it massively affects the profits. Don't know why people think otherwise.

I tend to buy 99% of my Switch games from Amazon and they're -always- listed at max price around 69.99 at first, and then they end up 10 or 20 cheaper than that at release, so while Nintendo isn't known for its sales on in-house games, I don't think we're actually going to see Switch 2 games at 89 or 99 prices.

I think Smash's lead dev has been busy developping the new Kirby Air Riders, and going by his comments on the last Smash where they basically threw everything into it, I don't think we're going to see a new Smash game this generation. Perhaps a re-release of Smash Ultimate on Switch 2 maybe.

I'm hoping for a full remake of Ocarina of Time for 2028 which would be the 30th anniversary of its original release.

If you guys don't have accounts on Deku Deals, you really should get them. That place helps save a lot of money on games by keeping an eye on sales, especially Nintendo ones.

Am I the only one who doesn't give a flying fuck about an FF9 remake/remaster? People spooging over it lately like we haven't gotten multiple versions of FF9 already, including a very nice HD version on PS4. It isn't like we're going to get a full FF7 Remake type situation here with FF9.

I bet most of the people going on about it are just gonna buy it and play it for ten minutes, like what happened with the PS4 Legend of Dragoon port (which I don't even think is HD) and the FF9 HD port. Their trophy lists don't exactly show a lot of engagement.

Now an Ocarina of Time remake, that I'd be into, whether it's an HD port, a total remaster, or a full-on Bluepoint Demon Souls style remake. It'd be about damn time, since the game hasn't been enhanced in any way on a console ever.

Ocarina of Time 3D on 3DS had higher res textures and the 3D effects were actually impressive (Majora's Mask 3D also). But yeah, not huge ugprades, it's definitely way overdue. And would probably print literally billions.

Zelda-wise I'd also love a remake of A Link to the Past in the same style as Switch's Link's Awakening, and a port/remaster of A Link Between Worlds (3DS) in the same style. Perhaps even both in one cartridge since it's a direct sequel. Those cutesy Zelda games probably take a fraction of the dev time of the huge ass Breath of the Wild / Tears of the Kingdom style games.

Key cards are the stupidest thing.

They took the idea that the 3rd party “custom” box / bundle maker dudes on amazon did and just made it official and stupid.

DK should be pretty good, first 3D DK game since the N64 I think. Nintendo usually puts as much effort into DK games as they do with Mario games. Also we're getting it about a month after launch. I would bet that Metroid Prime 4 will be about a month after that, some time in mid to late August.

Elden Ring Nightreign will be out 6 or 7 days before this system which also works out really well timing-wise.

Also, taking so long to get to BOTW and TOTK might pay off if they're getting much-nicer versions or $20 or whatever (hoping for $10, expecting $30)

To me if I can play both Zelda games at 60 fps, the system will be worth the money to me.

The Amazon-Nintendo war is really weird. Amazon no longer sells any Nintendo published games or hardware (directly, you might find a third party listing but it will be the shitty kind that's both sold and shipped by, and that means no proper return policy) and yet I've never seen a games urinalist talk about it at all.

For people thinking they'll preorder a Switch 2 from Amazon, you're almost certainly out of luck unless they come to an agreement in the next week. Seems unlikely since whatever their disagreement is, it's been going on for a year or so now.

"Games urinalist" lol

I'm going to get my preorder done the old-fashioned way: By pulling up a chair and sitting outside the Gamestop next Wednesday morning and waiting until they open at noon.

Might invite a friend or two to join the wait and play something, like we did back in 2006 for the Wii launch.when we were all in college.

I'll be surrounded by double-masked neckbearded weirdoes, no doubt, so I'll probably have to assure them that my friend(s) aren't cutting the line or buying a system, we're just hanging out. I'll probably get screeched at. It isn't 2006.

Sorry if I didn't went through all the post and somebody probably know it. How much is the upgrade from when you already own the switch 1 game?

They haven't said, but I assume from the base pricing of switch 2 games compared to their Switch 1 counterparts that are already out, $20-$30.

I have the feeling that they might include the free upgrade to their yearly subscription. Just like you get free expansion pass when you have their most expensive subscription.

That seems like it would have been prime launch information. No way they wouldn’t have mentioned it.

Remakes are interesting. From a making my eyes bleed perspective, the PS1/N64 era is really hard to play on non-CRTs imo. Remasters help but even then - ouch on some. And PS2/xbox/GC era is hit or miss. Realistic style didn’t hold up well.

There are a few classics from that era I wouldn’t mind remakes of if it didn’t kill anything else new in pipeline.
