playing mario kart and mario on the 4K tv and then taking it to the throne for quality time is pretty cool, but i'm not a massive zelda fan - still haven't played ocarina, ALBTW, or Majora's Mask on my 3DS - so I think I'll be cool just waiting for the inevitable price drop, bundle, reskin, whatever. While $400 isn't really anything to me to spend, i'd feel pretty stupid buying a switch and then not turning it on for months at a time like my goddamn oculus rift. at least with that i can watch giant porn star tits and vaginas, the switch won't have netflix or any streaming apps because its docking system won't be HDCP 2.2 compliant (its a USB-C to HDMI converter).

I'm with spronk. I'm not jumping down Nintendo's throat for the Switch but I'll just wait for it to have titles I care about. Like probably the next Mario Kart is when I'll move on the system. Never been a huge Zelda guy personally.

If they can do that, it is a good step forward. However, it won't do any good until they actually port the specific VC titles over to the Switch. Either way. at least they are making headway on a cross platform market that has been nailed down from anyone else in the market for the past fucking 20 years.
It infuriates me that I actually get excited about this.

I'm buying the system in the hopes that we'll get some updated classics. Megaman, Castlevania, Ghouls n' Ghosts, Kid Icarus, R-Type, Contra. Someone at Nintendo remembers that these games were the fucking tits, right?

How will they update them? It will be the same port as the 3DS/Wii/Wii U VC that's out now for these games. Unless you mean you don't own any of those systems.

Ah, ok. Yeah but they obviously will be the same just ported to the new console. Gotchya. Yeah being that you can play them in the living room and portable as well, it would be in their best interests to launch with every standard 1st party title they have in VC for the switch as soon as possible.

Capcom or Konami owns most of those and they are pretty mobile focused now, having created new mobile game studios last year. you will eventually see all those games, but it will be on your phone.

I'd buy a Switch in a heartbeat if their online price consisted of a stream-as-much-as-you-want-for-as-long-as-you're-subscribed virtual console. I'd love to play the shit out of all those old, insanely hard games (assuming the library was large and up to date). Nintendo is sitting on a nostalgic gold mine.
