People ask what else can they do in Eve online after they finish the tutorial or whatever it's called now. They haven't even scratched the surface but the game doesn't give them a "do this now" so they either ask or quit and there are umpteen things to do.

First picture shows where the teleporters are. Once you land your ship, they're the opposite direction from the stairs. Just port to the bridge directly, easy-peasy

2nd pic, I just logged on and boarded a random NPC freighter for comparison. Mine is only a B class Capital, compared to a B class 'normal' freighter. The only real differences are how the freighters appear, and the # of slots.

Note that I have none of the modules Mist Mist mentioned. I'll 'get around to it' eventually.

One of the "problems" with NMS is that the two main tutorial storylines, the Atlas Path and the Artemis Path, are very outdated and repetitive.

The previous Expedition for Worlds Part 1 was a very good intro that also got you a ton of upgrades, especially combat upgrades, very quickly, and was a much more interesting way to ramp up to current content. Unfortunately that's now closed.

I'm trying to finish up the fishing expedition (ugh) and I swear I saw someone with the name "Big 'ol Ern" enter my system. But then I fucked up the screenshot. If that was one of you, it made me LOL

I started paying more attention and I see this guy. It's probably not Noodleface Noodleface though

Just to make sure I understand this correctly: You can do all three of the primary questlines, one after another? You just end up in the next universe each time?

I've been holding off on doing any of them for a long time, but I figure it's time to pull the bandaid off.

When you get to Galaxy 256, come to the center and say, "Hi."

I've seen some lists of all of those before. Is there much/any variation?

I saw a matrix for the different system values and all but not sure if I'll ever find any of them to compelling enough to spend time exploring.

All variations on a theme. Lush galaxies are most popular because paradise planets abound, but there's only four galaxy types and they just repeat through to 256.

You can do all of them and then deny jumping to the next galaxy if you prefer, as jumping doesn't really do anything beyond break a bunch of your shit. It is far easier to find people on the Anomaly that have homes in other galaxies and jump there if you really want to go there. A couple of the Community Spotlight bases are in other galaxies so they are always available to jump to.

Technically you'll have the quests still in your log, but the last step is literally something like, "Enjoy the galaxy while it still remains" or something like that. Besides, I think you get the quest again anyway if you actually jump? Haven't done it, but I think so.

Yeah, I think you're right. I stayed up late to finish the Atlas Path, and I'll be damned if it didn't just get replaced with a repeatable "bring stuff to show the Atlas" quest?

Both the Anomaly quest and the Purge quest currently say "Reset the simulation" so I guess that's that if I want to go that route, LOL

I think back in the day (I've only been playing a few months) it was probably a big deal to jump to a new galaxy. But from what I understand it was kind of like Starfield's complete reset at that point, and maybe they learned the lesson that Starfield didn't...no one wants to play for potentially hundreds of hours and then just reset their shit to do it again in a slightly different universe. So they even, I believe, let you keep old bases in the previous universe now. There doesn't really seem to be a reason to complete any of those quests now, just teleport to Eissentam (sp) or wherever via the Anomaly, and it is no different than if you finished the quest, except none of your shit is broken or missing.

I suppose if you want to work your way through all 256 galaxies it would be a bit harder to keep finding new ones to warp to, so jumping through the center of the galaxy is your best bet, but why? They are all the same within the 4 types. And even doing that is cheesed now that you can just find a monolith and enter the coordinates to the center of the galaxy without actually traveling there the long way. And since you can't build a base in every single one anyway (base cap), there is even less point to going through them all unless you go all the way to the last one. Who cares about Galaxy 42 besides the number?

They should just change the endings to those quests and remove the penalties and just treat it as a directed teleport to a new universe or something. Maybe make it so that you can actually choose galaxies when you enter a portal or something, to remove the "I didn't make a base here" problem. That would give people an actual reason to go through galaxies via the quests.

Having nothing truly unique in the various galaxies just seems like a massive missed opportunity to me.

When you jump to a new galaxy it leaves all of your bases in tact. You can just set up a base with a teleporter and then jump back and forth between galaxies at will.

Doesn't it still wreck your ship and multi-tool? Obviously you just use junk ones to jump, but should just do away with that altogether now.

Also, still a base limit of 6 or so, isn't it? So going to endless galaxies is fairly worthless since you can't have a base in each one.

Yeah it wrecks your stuff, I forgot about that. Equip spare stuff when you make the jump for the first time.

There isn't a limit to the number of bases as far as I know. I have way more than 6 bases. I think there is a limit to the number of placed base items but it's in the 10s of thousands.

Wow, yeah I just looked it up. The limit is 402 including your freighter. Where the fuck did I get 6 from? I've actually deleted bases thinking I would need them for better worlds later. WTF?

Sorry, forget everything I said about that. Put a base in each galaxy then!

Honestly?

I feel like there's been a ton of stuff that's changed.

The fear of losing your stuff in Euclid may have been why I said "fuck it" and never pushed past it on the quests, the last time I played.

I also seem to remember a much lower base limit than 402.

Now my current issue is that I decided to make an extremely large greenhouse base (I'm sure it's been done before) but I decided to do this with my old, original base. But it wasn't until later that it occurred to me that I should have built it right at a glyph portal. (maybe I should go looking for the ones in this system tonight, since I never have, LOL)

Just build an outpost near the portal and set up a teleporter network between them...

I'm waiting for Worlds Part 2 to release in the hopes that it has improved building tools, but that's exactly what I did, found a world I wanted to build on, went to a portal I knew about and teleported over to my world, and set up my base near the glyph portal where I came out. Fortunately it has all 3 of the hotspots within base range, although definitely not the best you could ask for. But power is all that really matters anymore, and even C will power an entire base forever.

I honestly have no idea where the 6 base thing came from. Typically I'm not *entirely* retarded, so I must have seen it somewhere. Or conflated 6 of something else with bases. I know you can have like 12 or 15 ships so that isn't it.

Well you say 6 base max, and here I was thinking it was 6 ships max.

Guess it's just a max of 6 visible in your freighter bays? No idea but that's what I thought.

I've also been jumping around in my area of space looking for Interceptors, and tonight I saw there's a "glyph exchange" where I could have just scrolled until a found a ship I liked, then portaled to that location, instead of looking for dissonant stuff.

I'll probably just keep looking for my own, as long as whatever I find doesn't look COMPLETELY retarded
