Speaking on the NK height issue, this is very much real. Go to the DMZ and see some of the NK soldiers compared to their SK counterparts. There is a definite height/weight/build difference. This is even with the NK sending their biggest to try and "intimidate" the SK/US side.

This has always been spoken of in SK for quite some time, talking specifically about the overall physical differences between Korean from the North and South. It has always been guessed because of the bad diet (famine) on the NK side. I served in SK back in 97, so this goes back a ways.

Last I checked, people who just "attacked" other countries didn't end up doing so well under the scope of history. You know, Hitler just decided he'd had enough of this little Belgium thing. That's the route you want to go down?

I would fucking hope that we've learned a few things over the course of history and there's enough people of sound mind to know you don't just up and attack other countries for no good fucking reason. And there's pretty much no good fucking reason to do it right now. Launch one of your little pissant missiles at us and we can talk, but until then, there's literally no reason to get mired in the Kim family's bullshit.

Too close to China is why it wont happen (war). NK would have to do something MAJOR in order for us to even consider starting shit with them. China knows that, SK knows that, we know that, and definitely NK knows that. I was stationed there when the NK landed (abandoned) or beached a sub on the SK side. They proceed to kill their way back to the NK border. Was really the only time I was fearful of some shit getting started when I was stationed there because we went on high alert doing constant drills, and all of sudden we went to ranges more often. Nothing ended up happening.

Then you have NK sinking a SK ship, NK shelling an SK island, and still nothing happened. It would have to be on a scale 10X or maybe 100X for anything to be even considered to justify a war with NK. Even then I think it would have be something done in coalition with China. Very, very tricky situation. Anyways, IMO all this sabre rattling is more of a show to China than the US. I think they are trying to prove they are not a lapdog of any country, which includes China. Hence why China is starting to quietly scold NK in recent statements. Meh, it also has to do with media hype, they are scaring the shit out of US citizens much in the same way they do hurricanes. It is all about ratings. People keep falling for this shit over and over again. We will never learn I guess.

For NK to get a missile program that will pose a threat to anyone will literally take at least a decade.

Right now they are just basically strapping a bunch of solid propellant to a metal tube, pointing it somewhere Eastward and just lighting the fuse. No delivery system, no miniaturization, no aim, no precision. Hitler's V-2 rockets would probably be more effective in 2013 than a *Dong rocket from the Kims.

If they found some buried Martian artifact that allowed them to call down an ancient unstoppable inter-planetary war machine how much comfort would you derive from the fact that we had been a threat to them or their allies?

It's a really fucking basic analogy. I'm posing a hypothetical where they (rather than we) have overwhelming military power. That puts them in our (current) position and us in their (current) position. It's a trick to make you put yourself in their shoes even though you don't have any principles.

Sure and that is what people said in the 90s with Clinton. Don't worry about NK, it will take them a decade at least to get nuclear weapons, if ever. Then they got nuclear weapons, now we are saying "well, no big deal, they cant deliver it". Well what happens when they do get a delivery system?

At some point you have to stop kicking the can down the road and letting the crazy keep building up his arsenal.

I am disappoint son, I expected more from you. You're saying we're justified in attacking them because they represent a threat to us. And he asked if they're justified in attacking us because we represent FAR more of a threat to them, and you ignored it, or decided you were incapable of having that conversation.

If we are justified in attacking them because they present a threat to us, then you need to follow that logic train to everyone else.
