AMD has said RDNA2 will launch before the consoles. Id guess that means sometime in October.NOV. Launch:
RTX 3060 6GB $400
(AMD) RX 6950XT, 16GB. $1000
(AMD) RX 6900XT, 12GB. $800
Why?Lol @ 10GB ram in the 3080 versus 24GB in the 3090. What a slap in the face.
Sounds like a huge liability in 1-2 years at a minimum. Are cards running out of VRAM at 4k?
Horizon Zero Dawn did when I checked my card stats at 4k.Why?

Can't say from first hand experience but I've heard a lot of bitching the last couple years about high-end cards lacking the VRAM for 4k games. Why?

I mean, VRAM usage mostly just scales with pixel count. Some additional usage for shaders and effects and stuff, but 90% just raw pixel count.Sounds like a huge liability in 1-2 years at a minimum.
And higher res textures. Ive kept my 980 Ti for 6 years and it has 6 gigs of ram yet the 3080 only has 10 gigs? Seems like this is a case of forcing people into buying the 3090, or forced obsolescence after a few years.I mean, VRAM usage mostly just scales with pixel count. Depends what model you wanted, you could definitely get stock ones for fairly close to 1000-1100, when they were in stock. It's just most third party partners put some base level factory OC on them and a better cooler and sold them for 1200ish.Wasnt 2080ti MSRP like $999 yet it sold from $1200-1900?
That was also in the time of the Cryptoboom and no competition, which has passed. You started being able to get 2080Ti's again for $999 Sept last year.Wasnt 2080ti MSRP like $999 yet it sold from $1200-1900?
3090 rumored to start at $1400 which would bring prices to like 1600-2300?
Yep need to see what AMD brings to the table - should only be a couple months if theyre coming out before consoles.
