Was chatting with a guy at work about PCs, he’s into Nvidia, gaming, and doing some weird AI algorithm shit. I talked to him about the new cards and he was interested but wasn’t interested in buying them due to not enough RAM for what he does. He has two Quadro RTX 8000’s. I had never even heard of those, what the fuck at that price. He said they were $10,000 each when he bought them. WTF are these algorithms!?
The deep learning networks can require a large amount of VRAM so that 8 and 10 GB is pretty small tbh. I'm personally hoping for a 20GB 3080 TI.
Friendly reminder that people have been saying this for the last 20 years.
Intel has seriously stagnated for the past 5 years though. They're barely holding the gaming crown, just barely.

Those are workstation cards. They aren't for gaming. The drivers for them aren't even optimized for gaming.

Uh AMD was outperforming 16-17 years ago.

Its not like theres a massive gap between performance now. All it takes is a 10% increase to match top end fps and 2-3% to match low end fps. Anything more than that and Ryzen is outperforming Intels 10 series.

Haven't looked in a while but they come in a variety of models from only a little more than a regular card to a lot more than a regular gpu.

He is mainly doing AI, deep learning. Talks about some theoretical physics models he runs that is way beyond my brain power. He’s tried explaining it but once he gets into information existing on multiple theoretical planes and shit I’m lost.

Ya evga to me is best in biz.

Little birdie says these will be open to buy 9/17 0900EST

EVGA at 9EST?

I'm not really ever buying from anyone else until EVGA somehow gives me a reason to leave. They've RMA'd every problem card I've had for 10 years no questions asked.

The theoretical physics of how Taylor Swift's tits would theoretically look while she's bouncing up and down on a cock.

What's funny is how cost effective consumer gaming cards are it's hard to justify that bullshit. The jetson stuff is hot though. NVIDIA Embedded Systems for Next-Gen Autonomous Machines

I really hope this shit isn't backlogged for 6 months. I just want to finish my PC, and I'm not paying a scalper.
I currently have bots crawling 9 of the major online distributors. Plan to have at least 20 by the time it launches. You will pay me $1200 for an RTX 3080 and you will do it with a smile on your face.

Some single nerd with more money than I have will. I'll wait a year or two and buy at retail price before I do that.
