Are white boys actually beating Korea at video games now?
To be fair...

FPS is the one thing they can be dominate at. Counter-Strike has been in their life blood for more than the last 10 years. Shit it wasn't until recently BR dethroned the EU as the dominate region.

I have said this before but it isn't like there is a natural "good at fps" gene white dudes have that makes them good. Fact is if Korea wants to dominate a game they can and will because they have the infrastructure in place to do so. I'll also say OW isn't quite as much about raw FPS mechanics. There is the whole hero gaming but most importantly ult economy management so there is a layer of strategy that is largely absent from other popular FPS titles.

Lol, I meant it more as a joke. EU has just been hard on FPS's for a long time essentially the only gametype they excel at in the sense of champions, and it can play a major factor in this game. NA's scene has long since been polishing it off with the prospects but we lack proper mentality.

I mean, AF Blue and Lunatic Hai have clearly shown to be powerhouses toppling, what us on the west -would- have considered to been the best team currently. So it's definitely not like they're already performing; but again, this is probably a game in which EU/KR could actually be on par.. compared to the usual KR/CH league fest, or EU/EU dominate.

OW still benefits from raw mechanics. i'm not sure exactly what other FPS titles you're referring to, but i'd say CS has probably more layers in strats but it is done in a first to 16/30 games. OW games are a quarter of that time, so not nearly as much can go on. I don't know any other FPS that can really compete on a competitive level that is either Overwatch or CSGO.

I mean take Lunatic Hai's ryujehong for example, awarded mvp support, and is debatable the best ana in the world right now. His ability is raw fps mechanics. His high accuracy percentage pays it's dividend when it comes to his heals/dps/sleeping darts.

In other news, ditch friend because hes busy. Go solo queue, find its actually not that bad compared to what I had experienced in QP.. hit masters in 4hrs from 3.2k, with very few losses. I present this lol moment of the night.

Rogue had another match this morning on the bananaculture channel:

All the vods from this morning seem broken. The audio keeps going but the video has a second or two of pause every few seconds, then eventually cuts out entirely, at least for me.

Interesting result though.

Also watched Envy's match in the Apex. Was about what you'd expect :D

NRG fought Lunatic Hai, the team that beat Rogue a couple times. Lots of really bloody control point maps, good to watch.

I'm watching the rerun, and Rogue is about to fight NGA a chinese team.

Weekend comp is interesting. I dropped into the 1800's yesterday, and it does indeed get worse and worse the further you drop. The usual bad choices and terrible aim is kind of to be expected down that low as on average you should get enemy teams full of bads around 50% of the time.

But you don't, and I noticed it more when grouped with a couple rerollers. Even down in the dregs there are still groups that will have one or two people that can basically solo your entire team. I understand how they are doing this, group with someone -1000 under you, but I don't really understand why they would do it. If it is to climb, then something isn't working if they are still down in the 1800s. Maybe people just like stomping terrible players?

The plus side of being down in 1800 is that once every 20 matches or so, people pick healers, and I can go phara and completely destroy the enemy team and have a good time. And yes, I put that to the test several times. Teams are perfectly happy rolling with no tanks no healers. They might complain but nobody will switch.

Also, grand finals of the banana thing are up in the vods. in the above channel.

Wow rogue won the APAC. They even crushed the Korean team Lunatic-Hai in final. That Korean team won the previous 2 fight against rogue. TviQ was really great to watch.

* edit... Really sorry. Nice APAC final!

I really wish they had replays for this game. I'm not getting any better and I have absolutely no clue why.
