I wish having an alt didn't cost me 40$, i'd love to see life at a lower rank. Plus help a friend who can't seem to get out of the 2000's. I guess the sustain part makes sense, but I just can't see his execution being swift enough.

At lower ranks when people have no idea how to have erratic movement and just run straight lines you can pop them off quickly, especially when they also lack good healers and tanks. Higher mmr it feels like nobody can die but at lower ranks healers usually only focus on the fatass in front of them

Don't they do a pretty good job of dissuading smurf accounts anyways? Surefours smurf was back at the top almost immediately.

You're not including his sprint as well which is very good if you punish terrain more than the person (or team) you're skirmishing against. Since McCree can't get from point A to point B quickly and ghetto MMR is more about trickling than 6v6 it is often easy to find yourself in no mans land on the ground as McCree. Your options are to take a (generally long) path back to high ground but risk your team wiping to trickle in the process or just stay there and skirmish at a disadvantage. With Soldier you can skirmish, get picks, not feel guilty about escaping high ground pressure and quickly re-take it.

Over the weekend every other game I'd see platinums grouped with silvers. This was down in the 1800s too. Last night I played a long time and saw none at all though.

I noticed something strange last night. Had a really nice Phara win, with a bunch of kills and maybe a couple deaths the whole match, and I only got 18 points for the win. My next few wins though were big big point gains though, like 40-50. Maybe there's a bit of a delay on the hidden mmr calculation.

Supposedly if you go on a win streak the 4th game will start giving you a bonus

My older son has been playing overwatch and is like just under 2100, just looked at Master Overwatch. I may have to start playing and teach this kid some humility....

He may be talking more about his son thinks he's hot shit but 2100 MMR is, at best, average but more like below average.

He's definitely the kind of player you guys were talking about, he goes around owning noobs but doesn't really support the team or play support.

I think MO is a bit different where if you don't look up yourself you never register so the argument is only competitive players look themselves up hence why the MMR for the bottom tier seems so stark

Daly I saw Method didn't make it through the qualifiers for DreamHack winter. Will they go to the Lan quali? Probably kind of expensive to make the trip and bring your gear.

Yea I talked to him about day 2 and he said they didn't expect to qualify through the qualifiers as the competition was too stiff and only 2 teams made it. I believe they plan on going if the team shells out the money for them though.

Hey guys,

I wanted to drop in and talk about our upcoming PTR patch that is due out very soon. We are going to try something a little different this time, so you might be surprised when you see the patch notes for it.

Previously we've been using the PTR, first and foremost, to make sure the game is solid and there aren't any heinous issues that would prevent us from releasing the patch. There was a nice secondary goal of gathering feedback on any changes we're planning and trying to iterate on them quickly, but we didn't always have time to try multiple different iterations of any particular change.

This time around, the PTR is likely to be around a bit longer than before, so we're taking this opportunity to try out some more significant hero changes, and the push more significant iterations throughout this PTR cycle.

The PTR patch changes you guys see are unlikely to make it through PTR unchanged, unlike previous PTR cycles.

We want to try a bunch of things and see whats fun and working, and iterate more quickly from there. In this way, we get to have you guys involved earlier in the process.

One quick note, since I already know this will come up. There aren't any Symmetra changes for this patch. Her changes ended up being much more significant and require more time to finish up, but shes feeling pretty great internally so hopefully we can get her out there pretty soon.

I don't have an exact ETA on when this PTR will update, but we're hoping for later this week some time. As always, the more you guys jump on and give feedback the better the game will be! Thanks.
