Yeah her sniper rifle charge time is way to fast with bodyshots doing to much damage, apply that with a good twitch shooter and a mercy damage boost means she can nearly solo an entire team. While winston or genji running down most Widow's works, any team with half a brain won't let them get near or stay on her. I hate her more then Mcree which is still braindead but at least you have to get close allowing some counter play.

I'm too competitive to not rage, however, I don't mind losing as long as I am having fun. It's the complete shit stomps by McCree and Widow that infuriate me the most. Oh, and don't forget annoying as speed jumping Lucio, motherfucker might as well be the flash.

You have very little time to get a shot off after you have frozen somebody. Seems like an eternity if you are on the receiving end though. I need to quit reading the battle.net forums because the nerf Mei posts make me rage. Good teams make Mei's life miserable very easily.

I don't know that I'd lump Widow in with McCree in the "omg so OP" discussion. She's very strong, but has very real counters as well. Plenty of games with an opposing Widow keeping you down can be pretty easily solved by just swapping to Winston or D.Va (or Genji if you don't suck) and just ruining her life. At the very worst you'll trade for her in the sense you'll make her ineffective, but if her team isn't fully backing her up you'll just kill her on move on to doing other things.

You're absolutely right. But some nights I don't have the time to just stay and have someone squeeze out a nice turd into my mouth. I frequently get put into 5v3 games (because of leavers, lol iknorite?!) where the other team is crushing and there's fuckin 7 minutes left....7 minutes of losing...7 minutes of watching 3 tracers on a defend or king of the hill feed the other team. 7 minutes of constant ultimates from the ultra fed other team. 7 minutes of 2 of us trying to win, but 1 dude is afk and the other 2 are both bastion camped nowhere near the objective.
I'm all for penalties for competitive when that rolls out. You shouldn't be allowed to fuck your team with no consequence...but these pub games that mean nothing, why bother with a penalty?
If the answer is because you think it'll curb leavers, you're half right...but it will also breed chat rage. If you FORCE people to stay in games where they are getting shit stomped, the rage meter fills. I don't care how much of a fucking zen master you are, that shit gets upsetting. Then it spills into chat and salty this and faggot that, kill yourself, never play this game again, blah blah blah.
One of the games I quit last night the chat was full of unbridled teenage angsty rage from the team I had just joined. I don't have the time or patience for that shit, but fuck me for not wanting to take a dip into that cesspool of self loathing.

Also keep in mind that if the enemy team is dedicating resources and time to stopping you from getting to Widow, you should STILL be getting close enough and annoying enough for her not to focus your team, plus whatever resources I just mentioned chasing you, buys your team tons of space. Similar idea to Hanzo/D.Va ults - sometimes you don't need to kill people, you just need to dislodge them.
Whereas with McCree he's just sneaking around insta-murdering any single person he comes into contact with, does not need to be in a defensive position to shine and in fact gets better the more everyone is trying to flank around. Very different answers to the two characters.

If you have someone that can play a D.va or Winston well, you can make a Widow ragequit or switch heroes pretty easily. She can't do fuck all if you're Winston the flankin' gank mastah.

The problem is the people who suck at Winston (like me) that go him to try and counter Widow and she just machine guns them down because they fuck up and it's pretty easy to gun him down still. It actually buys less space than a squishier flanker in some cases.
Edit: As far as raging at losing goes, I dunno. It's super easy in this game to not care, the investment is so small and you can swap heroes so easily. In almost all my matches that were losses, it was because people were just playing what they wanted with no regard for winning, so if I see that, that's what I do, get some practice in. I start each match try-hard until I can gauge what my team is doing and just adjust. I think I still have like 8 characters with less than 10 minutes played so I still have plenty of practicing to do to even get the basics down. But if we are actually trying, I will do my best at my good characters and adjust to the enemy team on the fly to whatever is needed that I can fulfill.

I need to watch some winston vids, whenever I've tried him I end up leaping into everywhere I didnt want to be. (I tend to want a lot of shorter leaps and overshoot, definitely lulz rage mode, though I find myself over correcting twirling trying to hit stuff or again I leap and way overshoot and end up like Cincinatti.)
