Yes, it can be a bad or a good thing. But what's good is that you know exactly what you're getting. For me, this is exactly what I want. There's no "Hey let's try this new thing it might work but usually doesn't." kind of crap.

After seeing the complaints about the naming conventions yesterday, I decided to go have a read of the lore on their website, and yeah, that was a slog. The actual concepts were okay, but that writing was not great. First of all, someone needs to go into that office, and confiscate the apostrophe keys off of every keyboard in the place. One or two races using apostrophes as glottal stops in their language is fine, but you can't do it for every fucking race. And after looking at Tyen's list of bad names, I'm surprised to not see the one that bugged the fuck out of me: "WarWizards"; yes, two capitals, no space. For some reason, that one ended up striking me as by far the stupidest name they had.
But really, it's that weird, overwrought style of writing that somehow gets worse the more in-universe the text is supposed to be that's the real problem. They need to cut that shit out. Good thing this probably won't be a quest-heavy game, because nobody's going to want to read through that on a regular basis.

We saw with our own eyes as it crumbled about 2 years ago, the shitty Kickstarter, the 45k he snagged, the whole dev team left, then came along Sparkles with her insane/hilarious fuzzy trolls. But Brad quietly still chugged along and (sort of) turned it around in the past year, but who knows if he can actually find a publisher.

You all are probably right about this game, since the odds are always in your favor when predicting a mmo's failure. But then again this board has the same bunch that slobbered all over Wildstar before it launched.
If you want to be the cool kid you have to hate all mmo's, and most of you failed that test. I'm not cool, I'm hoping Pantheon actually launches with it's version of EQ.

This place is just reddit for old fat dorks. I couldn't care less that the kickstarter failed and it had 1 bad piece of concept art, who the fuck cares. Get out of your house for once, look at a tree, it is more interesting than this thread.
