The problem you guys are talking about is simply what wow became. Originally it was an improvement over EQ in almost every way. It's a shame what it turned into over time but there isn't much that can be done about that.
FalseMeh some of that shit I mentioned was there since beginning like a sterilized world and the shit tier questing with dick for rewards.
Pretty sure a lot of those group quests gave you some decent blues.Meh some of that shit I mentioned was there since beginning like a sterilized world and the shit tier questing with dick for rewards.
There were a ton of long quest chains that gave good rewards. Favorite were ones in w and e plaguelands and the long one from the npc outaide of scholo that eventually resulted in a lightsaber sword (with multiple other rewards in the chain)Pretty sure a lot of those group quests gave you some decent blues.

Did you play the game? Serious question.None of that shit really mattered though, well maybe in the beginning days, but most of that shit, even blues were all replaced in a few levels by a green or another blue. Then later by dungeon loot and raid and BG loots. Economy was shit, everything save some rare ass .0001% rare drop blues were all bop and the rest were boe.
Fair enough but just trying to show you that the thing you say never in the game where a big part of it during vanilla.Yes but this was back in 2004? Maybe Im not remembering it correct, but thats what I took away from it. WoW Zyy you must of really loved it, I jjust did not have the same feeling. Aside the PvP the whole thing was a snooze fest. I remember constantly falling asleep at the wheel leveling on those stupid quests running back and forth and shit.
Then it got worse every time an expansion hit. I think I got up to wrath and then quit. then came back for a stint when they upped the level to like 85 or 90 cant remember, thats when I had the healadin. But I never was really raiding in WoW either, I usually played PvP bgs in like 1-2 hour sessions.
I wanted to come back during xmas, but i checked some of the videos out and I would be fucking lost even as to what mods to install to make it even playable again. So far fucking removed from that game now its a lost cause.
I had a lot of fun spending my summer camping the placeholder for the mage epic in Sol A (or maybe it was B?). I'd literally read a book or do something else and come back every 20 mins or whatever the spawn timer was hoping the thing would pop.I guess you just weren't into the game it's kind of claim WoW was some kind of boring snooze fest when you are regaling us about EQ. I don't if you are remembering correctly but often EQ was fucking boring. I am not saying the current style of DDR+ button mash that is todays WoW is any better but come on. You cant tell me sitting around auto attacking Aten Ha Ra was anything but garbage.
No bro grinding out useless aa's at C2 in PoF against the same mobs for hours was much more fun. Remember all the loot that dropped that you wouldn't replace for decades?I guess you just weren't into the game it's kind of claim WoW was some kind of boring snooze fest when you are regaling us about EQ. Like linear dungeons. Yes there were some but then you had Dire Maul, BRD, LBRS, Strat, Mara (sire I forgot some) that weren't or contained multiple wings
The best thing? Some specs were useless until you got a specific item. Hi enh shaman with unstoppable forceUpgrades did not come every few levels. You're bleeding too much of recent history into your memory of vanilla. Also, dungeons like Stratholme and Scholomance were awesome.
I remember spending a couple days in places like Wailing Caverns, BFD, SM, and the Razorfen dungeons. I remember when Maraudon and DM were patched in. It was a really great world. It just had a lot of useless specs.
Ok so you didn't play. Strat had many more than 5 bosses. Took longer than 45min. Had rare nameds with unique loot and was huge. Those were all tuned for that nice little 45 min run thorough. Maybe some of the higher level ones like strat and dire maul which were added later were a bit more spread out with their 4-5 bosses and trash that dropped nil, but they were no where near the level of complexity of even Blackburow, let alone a place like Chardok or Seb, or even some of the smaller ones like Dalnir with varied spawns, PHs and hand crafted loots that could be farmed and then sold if you had the balls to go down there and take it.
