I had a lot of fun spending my summer camping the placeholder for the mage epic in Sol A (or maybe it was B?). I'd literally read a book or do something else and come back every 20 mins or whatever the spawn timer was hoping the thing would pop.

Pretty sure it took me 3 days.

Sounds magical. Try selling that experience to someone who never played EQ. Well you see bro would will kill this monster. Then we would read a book for 20 minutes while waiting for it to respawn. Only this time instead of it being Monster Y we are hoping it would be Monster Z. Took us 3 days to get Monster Z to spawn, let me tell you those were the days.

You had to walk to the camp in the snow and it was uphill!

Hey, never said eq didnt have its faults either. Some of that shit was brutal in eq, like the camping for shit. Its all tradeoffs. Also dying down there and trying to get all your shit back. None of that was necessary. Like i said middle ground.

Jesus, just stop mkopec mkopec . Literally every word coming out of you about WoW is wrong. You can make arguments about the world being lifeless (subjective) if you want but you are so far off the mark on everything else you claim.

Thats cool then, wow was the best game ever guys. Never mind then.

I get the salt, but we're not claiming WoW was the perfect game. It had plenty of faults but I think its fair to say the current versions of WoW with the McDungeons and other bullshit are clouding your memory some.

I appreciated some of those aspects. Everquest was a world of danger you could fuck up and lose everything (gear, levels) this added a certain type of excitement that is/was missing in WoW. On the other side much of the tedious bullshit was removed for WoW. I agree there could be some sort of middle ground but knowing what to keep and what to throw away to find that sweet spot has always been something that hard to find and different for every player. I mean psychologically Blizzard has spent a shit ton of money looking at things like dailies and found that repetitive dumb shit with the idea you are missing out by not doing it keeps people playing longer than anything else which is sad.

Dailies and achievements are another thing which I feel are a detriment to games these days.

I LOVED Dire Maul. One of my favorite dungeons of all time. Shadowfang Keep was awesome, but that's because it reminded me of Dragon's Lair for some reason.

You know I can see Mkopec's point. Thing is though, the dungeon runs in WoW were fun in a different way because the boss fights actually had strategy to them. Other than just line them up in a corner and tank and spank them. This was also a differentiating factor from EQ. Also, Dragon bosses that actually flew instead of just warp around a big room. On Mkopec's side I see what he is saying - that you could literally get lost in a dungeon and be screwed. Exploring it was fun because you had no idea what to expect (Early on) and the fear of losing your corpse and stuff was a real threat, which added to the danger of an actual dungeon. Different mentalities - both equally fun though to me anyway.

Did we find out qwertard's Vanguard characters? I remember this one twat who used to spam guild invites to what he claimed was the biggest most active guild in game. Mixed it up in tells and forums a few times. Can't remember the names, but was the same brand of retard, so that's my guess.

Lets look at some pictures of said game. Now tell me if it doesn't look like a bag of crushed assholes. Goddamn looking back on it, one would think this game would infect you with super aids on installation.

Can we do away with animal races and multiple choices for humans too?

Oh, this entire race of humans are black. if I wanted to make a black human, just give me the option to change his fucking skin color and give him some nappy hair and big lips, fucking christ.

the voice overs in vanguard were the worst ever. Literally every voice sounded like it was just a developer apathetically holding onto their job while pretending to be a mythical race.
