Turned out better than most every mmo since it. It was a trainwreck , but at least had the core of a good game. Almost every mmo since hasn't even had that.

Chuckling at the "you're the one who has to live with yourself" though , certainly sounds like you have some issues if gaming decisions matter that much to you or others gaming decisions.

I'm not sure there. I honestly bought two copies of it expecting it to be amazing after jerking off to FF titles all through my childhood and then went through the annoying clusterfuck of getting two characters on the same shard at launch (god that was fucking stupid) played it for a few hours and promptly uninstalled it. I simply couldn't stomach how ugly it was, how shitty the interface was, how slow everything felt, etc. I have a few friends who loved it though. Some of them felt the slow pace let them play with non-gaming significant others who would just get laughed out of any group in a faster paced game like WoW... I was also amused by reading a few articles over the years about some of the ridiculous content and how long the fights were etc.

I don't recall did FFXI have all of the in game detail and factions and lore like EQ? As I posted several pages back. There was just something about EQ WoW and EQ2 in terms of detail and "love" put into them that it's really hard to find in other games. EQ2 doesn't really make any lists because it was clunky and ugly compared to WoW and probably less like EQ1 than WoW was ignoring the lore of course.

Same thing he did with the PS4. Shitting all over this gen consoles and yet going out and getting one himself. At least if you are going to make a stand, be true to your word. Im betting he will pick up a copy of TESO and this game too if it ever comes out. Whats worse than game fanboys? Is fanboys protecting this nobody like hes the peoples person looking out for us or some shit, gimme a fucking break. This is games were taking about. Ive spent more on lunches this week than I will on this game.

Again, here let me make another prediction like he does... 80% of the next 1-3 yrs in mmorpgs will be failures. See? Anyone can do it.

The problem is that even the "shit games" can be pretty fun. I've played characters to the release "max level" in EQ, DAoC, Shadowbane, SWG, WoW, Vanguard, Age of Conan, Warhammer Online, Aion, GW2, SWTOR, etc that I can think of offhand and while most of them were disappointing in some way or another, I had fun playing all of them and don't regret buying into any of them. Shit I don't even regret buying into shit like Hellgate:London lol. It was pretty damned bad but still FUN for a good short while. The 50-150$ box cost of any of these games was easily outweighed by the amusement I had. The thing is, I want a game that amuses me again for the box cost plus several months or even years of subscription time : /

Damn thread title change! I stop monitoring the forums for a few days and completely miss this Kickstarter launch. Going to have to back and read like 200 pages now.

Anyway, I am pumped. So excited about this. The only thing I don't like is that they'll be using limited instancing, but I suppose I can deal. Everything else sounds great and I think Brad and his team are sincere. I backed it for $250 and may end up upping that before the end. The funds aren't moving terribly quickly, but I really hope this can reach its goal.

I love when haters show up and check us and Brad bc I know it only motivates Brad to make the best game possible. Keep doing it.. I need me some ^^ mmo.. It's been a while.

I just want to point out, its very entertaining watching the people who have no issue bashing/hating or make very negative post in other game's threads, either about the game or the players that enjoy it, but if someone does it here about them or the game they like , better watch out the train is coming right at you.

Even that seems low, I dunno, when I think of all the things that have to be there for just not the game but to keep it running(billing, cs, servers, bandwith etc), just seems like such a low number.

It has been a great source of entertainment since the KS opened. Hypocrisy at its finest. Go start shit in the WoW, TESO, (insert any game that isn't EQ) threads and it is just them voicing their opinion. Do the same thing here and it is "trolling".

Being realistic, the funding looks to be enough to make a strong base of a game to be shown off to investors with the goal of obtaining additional funding for the larger project.

If this gets funded this community should be proud. Seriously I honestly feel if the KS works this community is as a big a reason it did as anything.. including Brad and Visionary team.

The MMO Champion Pantheon thread had some links on this...

EQ 8 Million.
DAOC was 3 million.

It goes up from there:
GW1 between 20 and 30M
Brad said VG was 30M
I've heard 45-55M for WoW.
