Okay, I'll bite: I am a blind fan boy. Do you feel better? I hope so, as it's a lovely Friday. At least you admit that you are a blind fanboy who hasn't actually been an MMO player like the rest of us.
The game tenets did it for me:This thread moves way too fast for me to keep up, someone give me a reason why I should give money to this project.
Back if that stuff sounds good. I'm in for $250 for now. Possibly more later. An awareness that content is king
A requirement that classes have identities. No single player should be able to do everything on their own
A belief that game economies should be predicated on delaying and minimizing item value deflation
A commitment to a style of play that focuses on immersive combat, and engaging group mechanics.
An understanding that a truly challenging game is truly rewarding
An expectation that the path of least resistance should also be the most entertaining
An understanding that player involvement is required for progression. All actions (or lack thereof) should have consequences. Positive actions should be rewarded. Apathy or lack of action should not be rewarded with bonuses.
A mindset that Designed Downtime should be a part of the game to ensure players have time to form important social bonds.
A belief that an immersive world requires intelligent inhabitants
An understanding that faction should be an integral part of interacting with the world and its citizenry.
A commitment to creating a world where a focus on group play will attract those seeking a challenge
A belief that the greatest sense of accomplishment comes when it is shared
An agreement that player levels should be meaningful and memorable
Pick One:This thread moves way too fast for me to keep up, someone give me a reason why I should give money to this project.
I'm glad you went with zones. This makes it a lot easier for you to do unique architecture/scale in each and every zone without having to make it fit perfectly in the over-encompassing world. I think this was definitely a problem in Vanguard.Agreed. And you don't go seamless world. That helps a lot too.
No mention of PVP content? That's a little disparaging as that's usually what keeps me hooked on MMOs and what I usually play for.The game tenets did it for me:

Those options suck.Pick One:
1. The world ends if Pantheon isn't funded, that's the word from Above.
2. All the cool kids are doing it.
3. Brad will put in a god named Dollerer Hketus if you contribute, maybe.
I'll need a citeWhen it comes to a budget in 2014-2017? It isn't relevant in the slightest.
If you want an old-school, hardcore, group-centric game (whatever all that shit means), then donate and hope it can be made, because I don't see anybody else even talking about making such a game, much less trying to.This thread moves way too fast for me to keep up, someone give me a reason why I should give money to this project.
Haven't read anything about PvP. I tend to care less about PvP, so it didn't bother me.No mention of PVP content? That's a little disparaging as that's usually what keeps me hooked on MMOs and what I usually play for.

Well, then don't contribute. Thanks for playing. No mention of PVP content? That's a little disparaging as that's usually what keeps me hooked on MMOs and what I usually play for.

Fair enough, RIP KoAv2.0Well, then don't contribute. Thanks for playing.
There's a reason people can get behind.or want Tad to finally die from dehydration from all the salty tears if this project fails, then DONATE, because the fail will be even more awesome if it's half-baked instead of just never started at all.
EQ was $8M, Vanguard $30M, WoW $80M, SWTOR $200M.what is the realistic budget for a well crafted MMO? 5 mil?
I said CS as in CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am bringing up that a ton of us have actual industry experience...Okay, I'll bite: I am a blind fan boy. Do you feel better? I hope so, as it's a lovely Friday.
You probably shouldn't read too much into a single post: I beta'd Rift and SWTOR, passed on the TESO beta because of the thread here, played DCUO to level cap (fun, until you got to level cap) and played and/or beta'd a couple of other games between 1999 and the Present Era.
But if it makes you feel better that you played Rift and/or SWTOR to level and I didn't, okay, you're right I didn't play either to level cap, I guess good for you! As for me, both games were crap, that was clear from the Beta so I felt no need to waste time playing them when I could read a book, watch TV or play an older game that was actually good. I'm not much for gaming masochism.
I'm not sure why you are telling me about CS degrees and running back-end servers but I guess good for you?
I'm also not sure why you have a stick up your ass today with regards to me, but you wouldn't be the first on this board or the last so I guess also good for you?
Yeah, how can we reach out to them? They have an FB page, message boards, anything? There's a reason people can get behind.
I'm convinced that the EQMac people will save us. They're a broken hearted mess of at least 200 people who have neither a game or a server, to bad Hobart isn't on the Pantheon team. He could pied piper all of them to pledge for Pantheion.
Thank youThe game tenets did it for me:

Yes, you've just been "accidentally" post stalking me all dayI don't have a stick up my ass at all. I definitely don't care about you.
When are you thinking the early, pre-alpha (the Tester / Paragon pledge), phase will start?Yeah, how can we reach out to them? They have an FB page, message boards, anything?
You have people here already from that community. Over in the EQ emu area.Yeah, how can we reach out to them? They have an FB page, message boards, anything?
