Anyone else feel the 3k pledge is pretty weak? I mean people like fancy stuff like that but it seems a huge amount of money for a signed print... seriously your paying 2k for the print essentially.

I hear the first week really make or break Kickstarter's. It has to be concerning that after their first week, they haven't even raised 25% of the baseline goal.

Tack Vanguard on to that and you get a rather extensive list of shit. The landscape was entirely different when EverQuest came out hence what I said in my original post, and I suspect Brad's desire to make a good game before he got rich was infinitely higher. Anything people disliked about EQ was quickly forgotten due to the lack of competition and it being the first 3D MMO EVER! Jesus Christ Elderscrolls has a fully functional world with what I would say is decent art and it gets RIPPED APART on these forums because the animations are clunky.

Do you honestly think Brad is going to deliver a game that rivals WoW smoothness yet has the gameplay you all so desire on a infinitely smaller budget?
I think ESO is getting ripped for a bit more than art.. lets be honest here lol.

This is no doubt a risk but in the end both sides are making assumptions of what this team is capable of. My stance is I'd rather try and fail than not try at all.

Most of that is the magical 10k "here and gone" pledge. Been at 182-183k all day
he's not so magical.. he's having commitment issues with Brad. My guess is Brad hasn't answered his questions. when he gets out of the RRP maybe he'll just post them here.. There is some speculation on my part but I'm pretty sure I know who it is..

I think part of the problem is that TESO has a long chain of Elder Scrolls games that it is following. All of which look better though all of which have equally shitty combat (I hate bethesda games personally). So people are like YES IT WILL BE JUST LIKE SKYRIM OR OBLIVION BUT WITH MODERN MMONESS. And yet it's shittier looking than those games, with shittier modern mmo features than the average mid tier korean game. I think what you have here is more like the transition from Skyrim to TESO is on par with the transition from FFX to FFXI or if you want to use EQ...From EQ to EQ2. People have expectations of what they are going to get there and when those aren't met a shitstorm ensues.

I don't think anyone expects Brad to deliver a WoW quality game. I'm thinking more like a game with graphics slightly shittier than Vanguard's with some old school game play. If it's playable and looks OKAY then that part will be satisfactory. What everyone has their dicks out over is the hope of EQ style lore and factions and loot and lack of instancing etc. Which are things he could possibly deliver on but of course which no one is stupid enough to think are a 100% certainty even if this gets funded.

Sad fact is even if Pantheon launches and it's not total shit 90% of the people in this thread would bail for WoW 2.0.
I doubt there is anyone hardcore into MMOs as a whole that wouldn't give WoW 2.0 or Titan or whatever Blizzard produces a shot. They changed the game up a metric fuckton with WoW so if they have something new it just makes sense to give it a shot. If it's exactly like WoW at present I'll be back at Pantheon quick like.

Concerning to who? Backers? they don't make the charge until the Kickstarter is funded. Concerning to Visonary realms? Most of them were laid off by Sony, this doesn't work they're still laid off, I'd bet most of them have resumes out anyway.

Most of them have been at sony for a while and they can collect unemployment for a good what 8 months to a year? While its not full time money, its still money coming in.

Im also, sure they have all talked about if this game doesnt get funded, they will persue other interests.

Just read over the last 10 pages of the thread I missed today, need to add please ditto me on Flex's remarks.
If we get PVP server , no bg's , just make the teams , turn the switch and walk the fuck away. Zero class balancing for PVP and let the whiny bitches who can't deal with that not roll on the PVP server as they never should have to begin with.

Also nobody in this thread has once suggested (before today)any backers (here anyway) are expecting WoW smoothness in EQ/VG form from Brad's team.

And after the WAR/SWTOR/GW2 past several years , I'll gladly take a buggy piece of old school shit like a VG over any more of this crap. Sadly the past several years of shit has made me appreciate even VG.

I don't agree that decent PVP can only be implemented at the design stage. I think it requires a dev who is into pvp and has a vision of how it can be fairly implemented within the existing game. It can remain simple as long as it's balanced and exploits are weeded out.

I'm all for basic, no rules PVP in Pantheon. They call that emergent gameplay now. I just don't want it to suck, be easily exploited or eventually ignored.
I definitely don't want the catastrophe of hacking that was VG PvP. I really liked VG PvP but when people exploit/hack/cheat to that degree it just gets to be a bit ridiculous. Not to mention some of the bugs with invis etc. If they had a similar experience to Tharridon/Sartok without all the hax it might be pretty fun.
