Hah, yeah. Most sites are very open about KS and their 'meter' links to the KS and they use the KS progress as very transparent marketing.... but I guess if your project is tanking, it's time to spin shit!
It's like my getting the freak-out crew up my ass because I claimed it seemed to me the KS was abandon. Their 'evidence' it wasn't was Ben, the PR/community guy, posting that they haven't abandon the KS. When I pointed out it's his job to say exactly that, and spin shit, and make a good light shine on everything, they flipped out calling me a liar, challenging me with the question "Are you saying a DEV is lying?!" since he posted they hadn't abandon it and I still said it seemed that way to me.

They already have 425,000 dollars in hand according to them (no mention of the graphic being an unfunded KS ), so I won't be just dropping in 250 to a company than only has like 20k or so.

Hey guys, they haven't given up on the KS, but there's also no reason to spend your money on the KS because, as they themselves said, you can donate to them directly for the same rewards and avoid VR being cheated out of KS's cut of their money. Surely, they're hoping the KS still funds, even by giving backers plenty of reasons and motivation to ignore the KS and go to their site directly. It all makes sense, if you don't think about it.
Honestly , they've gone even further off the fucking deep into full sleazy than I thought they would.
You go to that site right now and you can buy in , and there's zero mention of the funds being KS funds that are unlikely to be theirs. It just says they have raised over 425,000 already and a big link to the store "Do you want to be in".
Implying that shit is theirs and you ought to join in now is , well , I guess what I should expect a team that charges subs to the forums , but it still surprised me that they don't mind being that blatantly deceptive.
