It was always interesting to me how closely those expansions were released together along with the original client and yet were considered to be some of the best expansions. Or maybe that's just my nostalgia speaking for me.

I expect I made a mistake but due to my jonesing for a new MMO in the style of the original everquest I made a large donation to their site. I almost feel like I sent money to one of the foreign email scams but not quite...

Lets hope they actually publish a game and before 2020!!

Nah, I think it's pretty much consensus that those two expansions were the best ever. They both expanded the world of Norrath, yet still felt like they were part of the original universe, unlike SOL and beyond, which completely alienated the original continents.

got plenty of vids that show progress. its def happening my dude. id guess in a year itll be fully playable.

the absolute shit z axis that the server sends the client is my only real terrible bottleneck so far.

Uses the TAKP database, so the content is classic.

Once everything is built out im replacing all the art assets and making different servers of EQ. Like a horror theme, FPS, etc. Going to spin out different versions of EQ using the same mechanics/server.

But ya, the classic EQ server will be avail, just going to create servers that are custom to the point where you won't recognize the art but the game will feel the same.

Also real big into crowdsourcing content development through a wiki-style site where the community can push database changes to either their own custom server or whatever popular server.
