Oh shit did they post some concrete information about what they had planned? Or maybe you snuck a peak at Brads secret design docs? Or is it possible you are just talking out your ass again? It's a horrible idea to the people fucking whining about it because they have poor imaginations. They are under the impression that cross-server play automatically means 'queue up for instance runs (that don't exist in Pantheon, btw) with a bunch of randoms who I will never speak to again'. They are right to be angry about this system, because that kind of anonymity destroys the need to build a 'reputation' with the people in your immediate community/server.
Now, what they actually said in the interview, is that they want options for FRIENDS to play with each other cross-server, and they are exploring the possibilities for this in their tech. So we're all a rerolled community right? Maybe I wanna group with one of you guys but we are on different servers. If we are friends, why would it be a bad thing to be able to send you a group invite cross server, and then have a method of temporarily bringing you to my server for a grouping opportunity, or vice versa?
There is no reason. It's a great fucking idea. People just spazzed because all they can imagine is WoW awful system of total player disconnect and anonymity.
When he talked about X-server of course people are going to think WoW you know the fucking MMO that was most recently played by the vast majority here, and really the only example of X-server we can go off of at the moment. If he has some brilliant fucking goddamn genius plan to make a super amazing non-intrusive funtime X-server idea then why hasn't he sold it to Blizzard for millions of fucking dollars.
