Yeah deap freezer is great, wish we had a bigger one. At 5mo into this kid we have over 1000 bgs of milk and I'm having to toss the old but still good to make room for the new, I should try selling it to body builders.
You can always donate the breast milk. My wife ended up giving away tons of it, but I don't think she went through anything official, just found someone who needed it through one of her coworkers.

I too bought a freezer a while ago. Now that our kids are older, I bought a big ass stainless pot, probably like a 3 gallon one with a nice thick bottom a few years ago. Anyways I cook up huge batches of spaghetti with meat and small little meatballs I make out of italian sausage and just freeze of dinner portions of it. We usually get about 6-7 meals out of 1 pot. Same thing with chili, beef barley soup, Fejuada (Brazillian black bean and meat soup), chicken and sausage gumbo, split pea etc. I usually do all this in the fall and winter and have enough for the summer months. And in the summer I usually collect and harvest enough tomato/peppers from garden to make a few batches again in the fall. Works out pretty good this way. It usually works out to, on average, about $30-$35 per big pot of ingredients, which equals out to about $5 per dinner with leftovers. Not bad.

We tried to donate through organizations but my wife works in Healthcare and got stuck while performing a procedure last year so no one would take it despite clean tests. We keep asking around to see if anyone needs some but no takers yet. Lurking... I think it is hilarious you are ikked out by donation bit no mention of body builders wanting to drink the stuff.

That icks me out, too.

It's not rational. My wife once joked she was going to add some of her breast milk to my coffee. I've never put cream in my coffee since. I dunno. Whatever.

We did the make your own food for a while, then just resorted to buying jarred stuff. The cost wasn't significant and I imagine it is controlled pretty well. Plus when they get older they have a lot of options that are good for babies when they can't/won't eat what we were eating.

So my daughter's "intervention team" meeting was yesterday. There were 7 people present at that meeting, including both the principal and vice principal of the school. They gave a pretty detailed writeup of stuff they are concerned about and they were really glad we are being so proactive with trying stuff. They are trying a new system where they reward her with some specific activities that she likes. She doesn't generally respond to reward systems so I don't have much hope. After the meeting she had some kind of behavior outburst so bad that they had to clear the other kids out of the classroom and they called the school's social worker into the class to calm her down. Apparently she was fine after that incident. idk. She's also gone back to having accidents at school.

Today was her psychologist appt. She got through all of the tests and the psychologist remarked how she didn't witness any of the defiant behavior/refusal/etc shit that her teachers have. I'm thinking oh great, she's acting for the psychologist. But we have to go back next Friday for more tests and give them completed surveys from us and her teachers then they can score it and make their determination. I think we may have bought her some time with the school, but if she doesn't get an IEP soon I think they will kick her out.

Well, it's probably better than shifting her school to school as she realizes there's something wrong about her compared to other kids resulting in a disorder from that too meanwhile never providing her with a stable learning environment.

Maybe, idk. My wife did home schooling with them before, it didn't go well. Anyway, the school can't kick her out next year, worst case scenario is I can't get her an IEP and she gets kicked out this year, she'll just go again next year and we'll be right back where we started. Which I think the school understands and wants to work through now rather than later. They are really trying as opposed to her preschool that was just restraining her and sending her home.

Academically, she's doing very well. The teacher thinks that academically she's basically ready for first grade.

So one thing I would guess from the information that you have given is that your daughter is smart as fuck, and knows how to act with specific people, and she chooses not to do that in the classroom. It might be autism, it might be ADD, who knows what, but there might be medication that helps her manage her own behaviour. There's a solution, man. Be exhaustive in your attempts.

It's an expensive thing at that. At least $4 per oz. if you want to purchase it from the donor bank. We looked into it.

And you should definitely look into donating it instead of tossing it. Or even see if you know anyone that's could really use it.

btw breast milk has some pretty amazing healing potential. Dry/cracked skin? Rub some milk on it. Not even joking. It's legit.

I have no idea why you guys are skeeved out about breast milk anyway. You gladly drink the milk of a goddamn cow but won't latch on to your own wife's titty and grab some warm milk? What the fuck is wrong with you guys?

So taking a shit in the bathroom at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion and then I plan on seeing Death Cab for Cutie. Our first big night out since having the little guy. She's already texting her mother about the kid. Haha
