Well hopefully one of them carrys on my family name because my brother has all daughters too.

If not, oh well, as long as they are happy.
being gay or female isn't an obstacle to carrying on the family name.

If my fathers mother hadn't been such a giantic cuntasaurus about this there's a decent shot I would have kept my last name and or passed it on.

But she was a cunt and my father is a cunt so neither of them are even aware I have a baby. (obviously the name thing is only a very small part of all the issues).

My son is 8.5 months old and he only poops every 3-4 days unless we feed him prune baby food. He's breastfed 5-6x a day, but we give him fruit/veggie baby food either from the store or what we make ourselves, for dinner every night. If prunes are good enough for grandma, then little dude can use 'em too.
I had postpartum hemorrhoids so bad along with constipation.....i was taking senekot which worked pretty good but I combined it with 4 oz prune juice....was so epic. Felt so amazing. Highly recommend to women having postpartum issues.

It's not common and I'm not dumb enough to be ignorant of the fact that there are always options. I wont be upset with them no matter who they are but a small hidden part of me will be a bit down if both of my sons didn't carry on the family.

Yeah. A part of me was disappointed from not having sons for similar reasons. Whatever though, that shit passes quickly.

Yeah the doctor says no big deal as long as there isn't and blood in it. We asked about switching formula and he said that shouldn't be necessary either at this point but we are welcome to try it if we want. He said he doesn't want us to use stuff like gas drops unless absolutely necessary like the glycerin suppository but again I don't think it's a gas issue since she farts like crazy but I'll be waiting to here from you Etoille on how the probiotic drops work.

Right now our daughter is about 70%/30% formula to breastmilk. My wife's milk just did not come in and our daughter will be six weeks old tomorrow so as upsetting as it is we've pretty much just accepted that she'll be a formula kid. We even had a lactation consultant from the hospital come to our house... She is getting about 12-15 ounces of formula a day and 4-6 ounces of breastmilk based on numbers that come from my wife pumping.
I know how upsetting that is, with my first, my milk dried up entirely by six weeks for no reason. It was super frustrating. I breastfed fine with the second and third though, so it may be different with another pregnancy.

My very good friends' daughter only pooped about once a week until she was well over a year. Doctor said as long as she wasn't uncomfortable, bloated, or bleeding, all was well. So long as she was continuing to eat, as well. They complained about the gas, too. Turns out girls do fart.
I'd say enjoy the fact that you're changing less poopy diapers.

Dude.........................................
Honestly.....eff cluster feeding. 1030-430 today.
I think ours is trending towards cluster feeding at night. My wife went back to work this week, and just this week he's started wanting to only feed for 5 minutes, and sleep while on her breast. If she tries to put him down he cries, and then will eat again for another 5 minutes maybe. It seems odd that he just started getting really bad with it just this week since she went back to work and isn't spending all day with him. I wonder if it's more of a condition of him missing her and wanting to spend time with her, since he's not getting her attention 24/7 like he used to (my mother is babysitting him during the day now)

we are trying to change up the routine...we think he's getting overstimulated late in the day so we are trying an earlier bed time.

Also I think the probiotics are working. He's passing gas more frequently less forcefully with less crying and bloating it seems. May just be coincidence but it seems thus far to help.

Used the 4moms tub last nite...was awesome. Felt like an extra set of hands.

My 1 year old has a new "trick".

I'll ask him for kisses, and he will lean in and give me a little kiss. Then he promptly follows it up with a slap in my face. Each time without fail.

hehe.....so at the lactation consultant appointment on 1 Aug the lactation consultant was giving me a hard time about letting my son sleep one six hour block a night in terms of his weight gain and my supply. At that appointment though it was measured that the kid was gaining at a rate of slightly over an ounce a day....and the average rate of gain for that period is anywhere from .5-1 oz daily. So we were slightly above the top of average.

And therefore since the kid wanted to sleep that long, and because of him being so colicky during the day....i went with my gut and decided that mom being mentally healthy was just as important to keeping him healthy and 6 hr sleep periods won out.

18 days later we go back for another lactation consultant appointment this morning.

My kid gained 2lbs. In 18 days.

The lactation consultant has 100% cleared him to not only feed on demand but if he will sleep through the night (last nite was 7 hrs - 10 pm to 5 am) that's ok too. Don't need to wake him at all during the day either.

She's no longer concerned these periods would negatively impact my supply either....probably because a 30 - 40 min feeding was a 7oz gain heh. Now she's concerned that I could go into oversupply (I'm probably already there).

She said she very rarely sees a baby be able to almost feed on demand from 3.5 weeks with this awesome level of weight gain (he went from 10-25 percentile to 40 so he's actually still not even in the average) and the moms supply going bananas like mine did.

To be honest I think it was the insane clusterfeeding sessions from last week especially.

How have probiotics been working?

We decided against based on doctor's advice. He said he has heard good things but still unsure of long term effects. Something about newborn's stomachs/intestines having no bacteria in them and being unsure of long term consequences of introducing bacteria via probiotics too early.

my 4 and 2 year old are so pro on hte ipad they show my wife whats up
My son went from just marveling at my wife's no-longer-used iPhone 4 to knowing his way around it really well in no time (long pressing to close apps/get out of an app he doesn't want to be in, knows what screens his favorite apps are on, etc). We've since upgraded to a Kindle Fire and Amazon Free Time, he's now 2. If he wants to use it he has to sit on the couch, can't run around with it.

Also, he's addicted to the movie Pitch Perfect, even getting to the point of emoting and singing parts of the movie. We probably watch it 7-8 times a week at this point. It's also on his Kindle. He loves saying Nemo and likes that movie for about 10 minutes before getting bored. He stays sitting for almost all of Pitch Perfect every time, it's like magic.

amazing actually. He is in a lot less gas pain and poops easier.

Its weird your pedi would say that....because I don't think it's correct. The Gerber drops specifically use a bacteria found in breastmilk. So clearly if you're breastfeeding you're introducing this in some quantity. Obviously just not.as concentrated. If there was a concentration concern that id understand but clearly they ate already being exposed via breastmilk therefore they have to have some in their system; not zero? I told the lactation.consultant today at the pediatrician that I started them.last week - zero concerns.

Maybe he"s referencing a different product.
