Oh no you see there's T16 maps, then you can really fuck with it via the atlas. You can add +8 to map boss/pinnacle boss level if you want then add in corruption or irradiation and make it turbo autist. Or making Breach harder, or Deli to have double difficulty scaling. T16 isn't even close to the end game this time.

People are really going to fuck themselves and quit this time. Guess how cancer this node is on T16+?

Vast majority of players just wont reach those levels of difficulty in the current implementation. I'm already getting annoyed at dying to mechanics I cant even see. My own particle effects blanket the screen so I couldnt see anything even if the ground didnt have a shit ton of clutter on it. There is no death recap to tell me what I actually died to which makes it all that much more frustrating. At least with bosses, I can go back to their chapter 1-3 versions and just practice against them. But again, the mob will be cloaked so badly in particle effects that I may not even see his ass cranking up his one shot.

You're at 16's, and Im routinely doing between 8 and 10's as of today depending on the waystones that drop. I've literally seen no difference in my kill times (as in I dont feel like theyre getting worse). But I've been one shot just as quickly in a 10 as I have in a tier 3. In that video, Kripp's a bit confusing in that he says that glass cannon builds are not for late game. But at the same time, he says that the passive tree barely effects survivability. I mean, which is it? Armor and accessories is all geared towards survivability anyways?... I mean damn. Im killing shit thats not even on the screen just so I can see what the fuck Im actually standing in.

.... Im still enjoying the game. But aint no way Im doing this every season. I only have the time I do right now because Im getting better from Pneumonia.

What I got from that is the best players will simply be able to expertly dodge roll their way through the majority of visible instadeath attacks where your passive defenses don't really matter. Resistances and such still matter for environmental damage and AOE.

Skill gems are probably something they should allow you to buy on the currency exchange then.

The skill gem system itself needs a revamp, its awkward and... doesn't make a whole lot of sense. And it takes up a shitload of inventory space even if you have the gem tab.

They also need to implement an actual skill page in the UI that doesn't require you to click on an uncut gem of the correct type to bring up the pane. And it should just use gems from your stash through that UI.

Does respeccing remain the same cost as you level up to end game? I just beat first boss in Act 2 and really wish I could just full respec, but it's way too pricey at this point. I'm hoping the costs don't increase as you level, so money will be less of an issue at end game.

No it gets way more expensive, capping at 5k gold per point.

I love how all this discussion about survivability is taking place and talking about the dodge roll iframes being your best defense.

Guys, the dodge roll has no iframes. 0. It never has. It's just a slight burst of faster movement, nothing else. All the people talking about it making attacks 'miss' are saying that like it's got iframes and it just doesn't, the only thing it does is help you move out of the way a bit faster.

Stop treating it like the dark souls roll and you'll have a better time of things.

There are far far far fewer resist, armor, evasion, ES and life nodes on the tree in PoE 2, the majority of your defensive power will come from gear, which fine makes upgrades more exciting, but without targeted crafting or targeted unique farming can really fuck you as you are at the mercy of the RNG machine or exalt collecting for the trade site. Its been a back of my mind complaint that the skill tree feels far less impactful in this game as creating builds was my most favoriate thing and they are less meaningful now to an extent.

As for glass cannon not being viable for deep end game, yea hes right. Fubgun is doing a HH Lightning Ranger at max juice T15 with 2k life but hes playing the evasion machine and anytime something hits him he almost dies, but its effective for map farm. Hes also an excellent player and most people wont be able to do it.

I dunno what the solution is, in PoE you could build toward pinnacle farming or juiced maps or mines or dad game box/shrine/whatever and kinda everyone had their own lane. So far there appears to be far less lanes and options at end game and the nerfs are kinda confusing players as to what the devs want. Do they want a T16 map to take 30 min to clear? I hope not but maybe they do.

That's just not correct. You can test this by dodge rolling into attacks.

That's just not correct. You can test this by dodge rolling into attacks.

There is no point during the roll during which you are immune to damage.

It shrinks your hitbox a lot and moves you a bit, so it *is* useful for dodging most things, but thinking of it like an actual souls roll is just going to get people frustrated.

Incorrect, you can actually dodge roll through traps in sanctum and take no honor damage

There's a reason PoE1 veterans are allergic to standing still. Movement is the best defense. The AI sucks at landing hits against moving targets.

This is true for a lot of reasons not even accounting for the dodge roll.

It's a core design concession they've made by making boss fights the way they are. By having them all be large set pieces with mechanical involvement and movement they have to really limit the types of defenses a character can build, otherwise people will just get tanky enough to start ignoring 99% of all the bosses they spent so much time crafting.

The result is you have extremely limited options to scale defenses with, and when interacting with the non-boss content (IE, maps and rare mobs) you just get stat-checked in to oblivion by mobs in higher tiers. There's a reason the entire HC ladder is deadeyes, a historically squishy class, because the only way to not die is to not be in a position where mobs can interact with you, via either long range or instant clear.
