If you want something that is unlikely to get nerfed, is not meta but is very strong (I have been running T15/16 for a few days now) and are willing to level up a new class I really do recommend what im running

Two variant (if you like time freeze and Temp Rift) which is what I am doing

If you hate Temp Rift and Time Freeze and want more passive survivability

If you have gold level as a simple sorc, this build comes online only after getting Time Snap so second ascendancy, and respec into Melee Sorc or you can level as melee sorc from the start (I recommend this so you get the feeling for it its NOT even close to the same as playing a warrior)

Maybe if too many people play it it will get the nerf bat but I doubt it

Ok, I am at the ACT TWO boss with a Warrior that is 3 levels over the area level, and what a fucking slap in the face to melee. He never pauses his attacks so a two-hander gets one swing in before you have to dodge roll through him to avoid the damage. Then, he throws out the two electric pillars that chase you that YOU CANNOT OUTRUN BECAUSE THEY CHASE YOU. Then, in the second phase he summons vortexes that force you to bail from melee because they move slow and slightly flow to wherever you are located. Oh, and he has a fucking million hit points so my build with the highest damage two-hander for my level and something like 60% increased phys take me legitimately 8 minutes to phase him. I was totally wrong about them throwing a bone to melee.....they just fucking do not care if it is playable or not.

When it says you have 16 weapon skill points, does it actually mean 8 per weapon?

Trying to get the weapon swap points and this seems to be what it is?

Says 8 (16) next to both sets.

But when I had only one weapon, I was getting +2 points each unlock and it's 4 per act? So confused.

Yeah no, that's 40 spirit (1 per 25 max life) so you get one more arsonist, possibly two if you were already close to another.

Always take dog first, the resist node is just bad. You put Fire Exposure and Strip Away on it and it just passively adds a nice chunk of extra damage to all the other minions. Resist node is pointless because there's basically nothing that would let you take max fire res up into the 80's while leaving LR and CR at 75. There's only one max res node convenient to Witch and it's +1 to all max res. Only other way to get just fire res is to stack +2 on a bunch of jewels and +3 on a shield (not available on focus either). If you can get +2 max fire res on some jewels that have ES% and minion dmg, great, but I would expect to pay 50+ex for each one and that's probably conservative. And the phys->chaos part of it is just terrible. Most people probably only have the 10% chaos res from side quest, maybe 25% at most if you get a couple random rolls. Chaos does double damage to ES so it's a negative in pretty much all cases for reasonably priced gear.

For the fourth ascendancy definitely take the life->ES node. If you have like 1600 life, that's 200 more max ES which should work out to about 1k actual ES at a cost of another 400 life reserved. Definitely worth it if you're stacking ES bonuses, which you absolutely should be as a witch. Kind of sucks since I originally though it wasn't going to be worthwhile, but after doing the math on it it's probably the only way I'm hitting 10k ES (before Grim Feast) so I guess I have to slog through one of the endgame bosses after all.

is grim feast worth it after the srs fix? is having an ES better than going eldritch battery and mind over matter as bunch streamers are doing

I didnt even think of phase 2 for how bad that would be for a melee. The lightning rods that trail you move in a pause > straight line > pause > Straight line, type of pattern. So you CAN dodge those. But for phase 2 - The boss just standing in the line of one of those side way tunnel of jagged objects? No idea how you fight him in that. Or if you were to drag him to a corner without the tunnels - he's just going to rain shit down on your safe corner. ... Like ... that just sounds fucking awful with the low tiers that are on gear at that level.

Well I just got him to the second part of phase 2 and tried to drag him out of those circles...but he does too many ranged attacks and just stays basically in place. So he is always going to have one side in some sort of ground degen and that means dodge rolling is going to have to be precise.

Didn't they say a few years ago that ground degens were not the way they wanted to go in the future? Well they made them 10x worse in this game. Every pack has a degen.

Thanks, it's working differently in that video. I think I need to refund 8 regular points then apply them to specific trees as weapon skill points.

I'm going to have a freeze weapon with freeze skill nodes and a dps weapon with crit skill nodes.

If I remember correctly, his melee attacks are very weak. Stay in melee range for the most part, obviously avoiding the vortex and stuff.

For mapping, I think it definitely is. You still get tons of Grim Feast orbs while clearing packs and it's easy to double up your ES. I've been following both Ghazzy and Ventrua's progress and imo Ventrua's setup has always been better, especially since he never bothered with that "autobomber" gimmick at all.

If respecs weren't so retarded I would like to test CI with the build. I had dismissed it before because of the life reserve, but I've heard that the Infernal ascendancy stuff checks your max life before CI sets it to 1, so you can get the benefits of +life items while also being chaos-immune which would solve the biggest downside to the build right now.

Nah, Ball Lightning with Rods.

Just watch the first few seconds of this video. This is basically what everyone is running. Even Lily mentions using Fubgun's build for leveling, which...his main build is now the "Rod & Ball Deadeye" build.

I'm still using gas arrow lol, I built around it post-nerf and it does pretty insane damage. I don't even have the right dual bow for it.

So god damn happy this game is here. Having an absolut blast playing it.

Got a few good drops today I could sell and reinvest into my character. Worked all resists from like 30% to cap (not chaos yet)-.

The Minion gameplay is everything I wanted in PoE. PoE minions were trash and clunky. Just wish they had Bind Spectre in the game and Necromancer Ascendency.

Currently working on Atlas quest for T8 but can easily do higher ones if I want. Lucked out slamming Exalts into allready decent gear making them even better.

D4 Bad. That is all.

lol this is the exact point I said fuck warrior too. I had the exact same build going as well. Max stun max armor break. The damage you do during the stun isn't even as good as it should be.

This is the true PoE game loop. Get through campaign, ups and downs, get to maps. Start getting a little currency and/or a good item to sell. Start investing that into your gear. Character defense and power++++, farming becomes fun. Targeted farming becomes a thing. Hours go by and you don't even notice. They got most of it down except for some low level pain they need to smooth out.

FYI if you didn't know you lose max resists as you progress, but it's tied to level instead of campaign progress directly:

A lot of us were confused how we'd hit 75 and be down some resists. The -80 is really -60 from PoE1 because of the passive resists you get from the campaign side quests (+10 fire x2, lightning x2, cold x2).
