what are you saying here? not sure if you're liking it or hating it

i'm a poe1 player although i've fallen off the last couple years, but I think this game is better in every way even at this early stage. Really hope the criers don't convince ggg to veer away from the path this game is on and just turn it into poe1. I have pretty much zero major complaints, just some minor stuff that everyone else is completely melting down over. wasd is a game changer, I started backing away from poe1 cause it destroyed my hands.
I am saying that using your experience as evidence isn't really evidence as at all, ie anecdotal data or "anecdata". I mean, I am a Mist appreciater but how many items did you craft, what class did you play, did you buy weapons off the merchant, etc.

I don't want GGG to turn this into POE1 or Diablo2/3/4 or anything else, I like the way it plays and has the potential to be an all time great game but its itemization/crafting/economy design are terrible and holding it back. I think folks who have played POE are likely inured its systems and don't experience the shock people new to POE are encountering. I also think the people assumed by the way it played that it was further along than it is, because them swinging the nerf bat the way they are is going to kill a lot of goodwill. I know its EA but with POE2 drawing in a lot of first timers, they aren't going to have that expectation/need to have that communicated/reinforced to them, and aren't getting it.

they get lost quite a lot when they are too many
It's not that they get lost, it's that they have collision with each other and the pathing isn't smart enough to make them get out of each other's way. And since the vast majority of maps are a maze of twisty little passages, they constantly get jammed up in choke points and once they fall behind you by about 2/3 of a screen they all die and then respawn. Which wouldn't be so bad except that it triggers the same timer as when they die to enemies. It happens with any more than about four or five minions, so it's still going to be a pain in the ass after the nerf, AND you'll end up doing 25% less damage to boot.

Really excited to play this every day, figuring out new tweaks at work to implement at home.

Newest one is why am I ruinning both CoF and CoC simultaneously? I can just have one active at a time on weapon swap and drop Spirit gear totally.

The weapon swap stuff is great, just wish respec was cheaper as I experimented with something that ended up suboptimal and needed to respec and entire 24 point weapon tree.

Been looking at Ghazzys builds to get tips etc.

I saw he had Snipers as an alternative. But damn they cost a lot more.

Yea most Maps are really bad for minions, they get stuck as you say and despawn.

I've been running Skeletal Snipers for the last two days+ and they're very good damage, but you need a 5 link to feel good for non-command murdering. I've got:

2 clerics
2 warriors
2 reavers
7 snipers
2 brutes
SRS

I'm mostly fire based, but I've got level 27 snipers and their explosion hits for something like 27k, BUT the "use" time is 1.25 seconds and costs 210ish mana. It wrecks shit, but in stuff like Ritual you can't sit there and get that ability off without getting fucked in the mouth. I use a low level flamewall for SRS and it can insta-ignite the gas cloud, but I actually have my skeleton warriors with infernal legion so they run up to a big green cloud and KABOOM. Instant death to everything. Looks badass when they ACTUALLY PATH AND ATTACK MOBS, but real minion players know that's only like 65% of the time. The "minion builds are lazy" fuckers are certainly not hitting minion command twice a second to get their fucktards to do anything. Basically my build is the general gas arrow/ignite shit but with more steps, more visual clutter, and more headache and heartache. Feels good.

If I get another 5 link I may switch back to pure phys based around the brutes and snipers, I did it for a bit and they absolutely truck bosses, but the clear was rough because I couldn't get consistent armour breaks from my archers or brutes for big AE's. They may be high enough now that it'll be okay.

Frost mages sucked. AI was terrible, their normal damage was shit, their command was great, but they were just very underwhelming and my frost army idea I wanted from day 1 is probably dead without mega investment, and at that point other shit is better.

Doorways and zig-zag maps continue to be the hardest mobs to beat.

so, no more updates until mid January? A true PoE league launch experience. Launch a non tested unbalanced mess filled with critical bugs. Week later patch some with nerfs, minor qol changes and an odd buff. 3 weeks later another patch and then silence for 2 months. They will probably do some kind of hard reset around April. To test leveling in fresh economy when people have some base knowledge etc. Right now, at least for me, playing multiple characters per poe2 league is out of the question. It's just too retarded

How much Spirit is needed for that army? Sounds fun!

Edit: If they now nerf the Arsonists to the same cost as Mages the Snipers seems like a nice choice. Also Gas the fire shit so it explodes. I dont have any way to 5-link the Snipers atm so havent tested them. Might try them a map with 4-link.

Edit 2: Tried the Snipers but did not see the gascloud explode, maybe I'm doing something wrong. But with 4 link they were quite good.

Has anybody even tried the higher skeletons yet?? I might try poison archers as a way to substitute? It will be interesting as pathing is one of the larger issues. I feel I would be able to handle most content but it would not be at a fast rate.

Im using Arsonists and 1 Storm Mage for Shock right now. Snipers should work as well.

Never tried Frost Mages or the other melee guys, I feel they would not get to the front line due to collision.

Many Maps are too cramped.

Did not consider using one Storm Mage for shock application. I might give that a try.

Im not as near as good at this game as others in this thread, but 2 major things helped me out a bunch.

If you havent already raided the guild stash, do so. The weapons you can get from there will prob double / triple your dps. Also, get movement speed on your boots. Those 2 things will carry you through the campaign.
I was hoping that the gear that I used as I leveled would get placed back in there after each person uses it. But I feel like morons are melting that shit down when theyre done with it instead of putting it back so other people could use it. But its whatever - I still put some things in there from time to time that I think are good. Farmed that Kett Scarab for a bit and that put a few pieces in there.
Purple fucking crystals spawning after killing a rare in a tight confined hallway. Of course I couldn't see shit because of my flamewalls and a million minions spamming their firebombs. This kind of shit is making me want to check out completely until they add ne
I'm glad... and, .. sad? that you guys have finally reached maps and can see what I've been complaining about for a week now. I can play around the mechanics, and .. I guess thats fine? But I dont think its necessarily fun and its made me fall off from the game quite a bit. There are just too many effects that you can avoid by just not being in the same area, and if you are - like was mentioned about the ground being on fire - the ticks are just so extreme in damage, or the mechanic itself thats easily disguised is just a one shot mechanic.. That I dont even want to be in the same area after I clear a pack. I just dont think that clearing shit "off screen" is good game play and.. its like this company thinks that THAT is the difficulty curve.

Life, Armor and Evasion, and three to four resists on every piece of gear.. just so I can counter the constant negative resists.. which limits my build, and forces me to use the most OP build that lets me kill the most shit off screen. Its not fun and the only thing thats been pushing me to still do it are the pinnacle bosses. I just want to kill them, but Im losing steam because I'll still be doing everything Im supposed to and die.

Some fucking mob with 70% run speed boots jets across the fucking screen to my character and does something that I cant see because Im standing on a pile of corpses... so I dont even see that he puked out a fucking one shot mechanic at my feet that spreads all the way up the tunnel to the edge of the screen on the opposite side. Oh, you think you're safe running backwards to the other side away from his corpse? Fuck no. You're dead to that one shot mechanic you cant even see, your key is wasted, and you lost all the exp you gained in the last hour. Fun.
How do I find out where I'm getting hit with -Cold Resist? Did I take a Passive I'm not finding that nukes my base resist? Based on my equipment I should have something like 20% cold, but I guess since I'm Act 2 Cruel I have built in -X% resist? I know someone posted a chart earlier.

The entire fucking spreadsheet for character stats is God awful. When I hover over a stat, I should see a list of everything that is effecting that stat in a game like this. Whats worse is that there are stats that arent even listed on the spreadsheet. What the fuck.

Ive got mixed feelings towards the game. Just feels like they designed a new way for combat to work and then filled in the rest of the game with everything that "saves time and money." Game is leagues better than something like D4, and thats great. But that wasnt a very high bar to pass?.. Everything past the OG campaign is just "mid" at best.

Lord, I have a ton of Divine Orbs. I was abusing Exalted Orbs I got as I leveled and that was enough to get me through the curve so I've been broke for a minute now.

I feel Perfect Jewelers Orb is the new Divine Orbs you hope drops if you need currency quickly. On the other hand you would probably need to use it yourself for your build. I think they are 150+ Exalts now.

Price fixers bought em all out when they were 4-5 and had the top end sellers agree to list top end items in Divines instead of exalts. They were 17 exalt -> div yesterday afternoon when i bought 25 of em, soo nice little double my money.

But yea, this always happens, the economy players are fucking cancer. It was fun to use Divine orbs, now you def dont want to, they make the Divine Orb drops in PoE1 look common.
