This game has some interesting skill interactions that are not readily apparent from tooltips/in game skill showcase videos.

Siege Cascade looks really meh if you just use it as is to auto target enemies. But this game treats icicle walls created by skills as enemies which makes it do this:

That's actually kinda cool, and I hope they don't nerf it.

Thats odd. frost wall doesn't count as "enemy" for most other things.

you can crit them, for cast on crit spam. but, fork, and crit weakness, curse, marks, and other debuffs/explosions, etc. they aren't valid "enemy" targets for.

The problem I have with the minion build is the crazy price on + Skill to minion Items. If you are just starting off, you will not have collected enough by end of campaign to purchase those items(Unless you get stupid lucky). So how does the build do without that stat? Also, what is considered a good number of reavers and clerics to easily get through Tier-1-4 maps? How is this build better than a bomber/skull build with the same equipped items?

I had the same problem (I haven't bought anything from anyone, so still SSF even though I could trade), but watched Ziz play his minion build (he is HCSSF) and how he did it. Basically just pick up the items you need (both white and blue). Blue you just identify, white you just turn magic and add one stat since you have plenty of both those orbs. You don't spend long getting + to minions. Only issue is getting + spirit on the scepter as well. I now have a +55 spirit and +4 minion scepter. +2 minion helm. Still nothing on amulet, but can fairly easily do up to +8 maps (though can have issues with some additional events like breaches). I assume +6 to skills is higher tier. I am only level 76ish I think. Found one item with +6 which was a blue bow which I put in the stash to try another build.

Issue I have now is stats. I need dex, str and also int. But getting those stats and also keeping my resists is much more of a pain. Currently lack int to level up gems to the 15 tier and if I tocuh any of my other gear or nodes, other items start breaking. Found some upgraded boots that I lost 40 ES and 50 life on, but they had more magic find and have 30% move speed. I am not going back to anything less.

Also, why ever use anything else than

Did you notice that it uses 100% of its charges and only lasts 1 second?

Well yeah, but having it on when you kill a rare/ boss means it activates on that. Doesn't need to last long if it activates on death before loot drops? I just portal out and well it before fighting a boss, other than that just keep it on when doing the map. I'm sure there are circumstances (unique encounters) where having certain immunities will be better/required, but not encountered one yet. Other than perhaps once when I did an ultimatum (which I failed) where bleed was a thing and wish I had resists for that.

It might not even work at all, but put it in the placebo part of my brain and it is the best charm there ever was! On the map after I got it (only level 6 map, blue, no loot modifiers) I got 4 exalts which doubled my supply. There is no way it activated that often, but.... placebo activated and now it is never coming off.

Seriously how would we ever know if it triggered before or after the loot dropped. You'd probably need it closer to 100% IIR to test it. Path of Placebos stays winning.

I feel the game plays much better on controller, especially with dodge, but the UI fucking sucks on controller. I go back to my PC to actually sort inventories and shit. Hope they make a lot of improvements to controller UI stuff.

What’s the best way to cross play? Do you have to buy two copies like Diablo IV or can you use the same account between devices? If so which PC platform lets you use your Xbox account?

Yeah controller feels great.....I tried WASD but couldnt fully get used to it. It didn't feel bad, but I definitely prefer playing on controller.

Can't wait until they implement keyboard / mouse working normally for inventory while playing with it.

Yes you have to pay twice, for example on the ROG Ally I play on steam, Xbox and Steam account are linked but I had to pay on Xbox and Steam. At least you get coin to buy tabs for the purchase so there is that.

Artillery Ballista totems shoot them. They shoot them last if there are monsters on the screen but they shoot them.

I thought I read that since it's EA you need to buy access for each iteration but I could be wrong. If I'm right then I guess you just have to wait for it to become F2P?

So now with the conversion changes this just kind of fucks melee since most skills are conversions to fire damage right? That means 60% of my damage doesn't even get affected by things like 2her, melee etc, area damage? They should've left conversions the same and only had them on melee skills but I guess not. It's a shame because the game feels great on melee, at least it feels like how they want the difficulty, but there's always this nagging feeling that I'm just playing hard mode for no reason other then to experience the vision.

Monks aren't included in this because freeze is overturned and quarterstave skills have no windup it seems.

There are 5 damage types in PoE2

Physical, Lightning, Cold, FIre, Chaos.

All conditional damage increases (2 hand, 1 hand, spell, melee, projectile, attack etc) apply to all damage types equally. Conversion happens after base+flat but before increased.

So a skill that did 1000 base+flat physical damage, but the skill converts 60% to fire and has 100% increased melee damage (and is a melee skill) would get:

Physical (400 * 2) + fire (600 * 2) = 800 physical and 1200 fire

The order of operations is the important (and usually most confusing) part of damage calcs.

Was there some change announcements?
