When does this xp penalty kick in? I'm only on tier 11 maps at level 80 and feel like I could probably be handling 13/14 with a bit a care, but I don't know if I've lost experience on death yet. Havne't noticed at least.
Its just diminishing returns when you reach a point that you're really overleveling the mobs. Wont really feel it until late 80's unless you're doing maps that are 10 or so levels below yours. That's why its important to corrupt your T15 waystones and play juiced maps that have + level mobs once you start getting close to 90. They dont want every dude playing the game to get 100. The grind from 95-100 is always going to be a slog, that's not never going to change.

I feel like is really becomes noticeable in the 70's if you die, but XP also slows down the higher you go late 80's and 90's you really feel it. If you are level 80 though you certainly should be doing higher maps. I guess it depends on the class but I feel like most can handle 15s in the 70s if in the proper build, gear.
Will give some 15s a shot today in that case. With a couple trade shop upgrades, I think I'll be alright. The monk build I'm using has been really good other than the occasional 'what the fuck was I just standing in' deaths.

A few troll builds. I also have a 100% aoe slow chronomancer. ie. blasphemy+temp chains, and apex, with increased curse/aura effect, and slow magnitude. giving over 100% slow to everything on screen. I'll post that one later. (anyone can actually do it, chronomancer just does it easier/stronger)

Blink+cast on dodge Chronomancer. budget. not using Temporalis. theory wip.

CDR:
10% from gem quality
30% ingenuity
12% chronomancer
50% shield
77% CDR in tree. (authority is another 10%)
6 jewel slots atm. 3-5% cdr via emerald, or mana/energy via sapphire. lets say 3/3. thus, 15% cdr.
194% cdr.

These are all "increased" so I think they just add into each other. I don't think its a case of the 10% via quality being taken from the base, then multiplied into the rest or anything.

meta skills. +55% energy
+119% spell damage for triggered spells
+40% spell damage if you have triggered recently



This tree is... silly. all travel atm. we DO have access to a number of +projectile damage nodes, some various cold/elemental/lightning ones. and a solid amount of crit chance/damage. so scaling crit/coc/damage along with cast on dodge would make sense.

also no defenses picked up yet. aside from blasphemy, aoe slow, temp rift. and possibly enfeeble.

cooldown reduction rate is a Rate. and thus can't hit zero.

we'll use that 3.5s level 20 blink. which.. MIGHT be lower with plus skills..)
3.5s/(1+(194/100))= 1.19s cooldown.

if a +5 to all skills gets us to 3.3s.
3.3s/(1+(194/100)) =1.12 cooldown.


Energy gain.
5m level 23 blink.

+66% energy gained via level 23 cast on dodge.
+40% impetus.
+55% in tree.
lets say 3+15% energy sapphires. +45%
=206%

20 energy per meter.
5x20x3.06
306 energy per blink. enough for comet every blink.


also, 154% cdr is pretty good for temporal rift, time freeze, frost bomb, frostwall, and time snape too..


I have tested blink+cast on dodge. just never fully committed to it, to playout the build concept. ssf, so jewels are lacking...

Man it honestly feels like I have barely played, haven't spent much on gear, and somehow I am obliterating everything in my path. Bosses lasting few seconds. T15+ maps as juiced as you can make them. All main atlas points obtained.
The only thing holding me back is farming the keys to fight league bosses. Instantly killing rituals, breaches, expeditions, strong box. All of it. I could spend a ton of time farming for optimal gear and wealth, but why?

Lvl89 infernalist reaver build. Was using MoM build and now trying grim feast es build. Either build destroys the same.

Thanks whoever dumped the 10 trial ultimatums in the bank. I can knock those out in 15-20 minutes, made like 5 div in an hour or so , tho a big part of that was the rare soul core I got. Honor is such a bullshit mechanic that the chaos trial is relatively chill compared to that, esp if you have a tanky build

Btw never take petrification statues, in addition to being a really shitty long stun, they can spawn in places that block switches. So if you fall off a platform and need to hit a switch, get fucked time to start a new trial and you lose all your loot

As a map noob and just finishing up my Tier 3+ Cataclysm Wake quest, are there specific nodes I should really bee line for at this point, or avoid?

On the legend I've at least been to a node that has some of these, didn't know why or what they were. I did a Lost Tower (and have two Precursor Tomes but am unsure about them). I haven't done a Monolith yet. The Expeditions have the dynamite and the other currency for trading. I've done a couple of delirium and have a few of those too.

Anyways, just checking. I'm sure it doesn't matter at this point, likely, being that I've only tested up to Tier 5 maps and am mainly just trying to knock out the quest for atlas points.

Re. Item Rarity, since noone knows I created a new character using nothing from my current 3.

Aimed for getting some Item rarity ASAP ranged from like 15 in Act 1 to 70 in act 3 Cruel, using an Infernalist since Minions is ezmode. Used 15 total exalts to buy the robe, shield, neck, helm and a nice pair of boots. I DE'd every rare and used 4 Regal Orbs like a moron. I used trans and aug's as needed. Jewelers can ignore as I used those as well. I got 13 total Unique's, 5 of which were duplicate and sharded.

This is just hitting maps, none completed

Hit T15 and immediatly bricked a map to 3 rares spawning at start of the map, also fuck those Vaal meteor summoners.

Really need either a new bow or work a Herald into my build.

I agree that punishments are too harsh, would be fine if more currency and maps dropped to compensate, also have bosses in every map.

heres the slowmancer.

Blasphemy.
+encumbrance 15% slow mag
+heightened curse +25% inc effect of curses.

jewels. 7. important. can get +5% curse effect, and +10 aura effect per. sapphires. both prefix.
+35% curse, +70 aura effect.

Blasphemy is a buff, not a spell.
Temp chains is a spell. (+skills ammy works)
+7 to spells on wand/ammy.

a scepter gives us spirit, malice aura, and increased presence area, and "allies in your presance" aura bot goodness.

glove corruption
Debuffs you inflict have 30% inc slow mag. important. tempchains, hinder, and apex.
time manipulation annoint. 10% inc slow mag.

level 20 blasphemy is 41% less effect. .59effect. (10% reduced res quality. so 108 spirit for 2 curses.)
level 27 temporal chains is 30% slow. (edit: I forgot the 10% inc curse effect from quality thats not in any of the math)

in passive tree. 44% effect of curses.
128% area of effect for curses.
114% spell aoe. (242% curse aoe total)
34% slow mag.
44% effect of auras

so.
30% temp chains.
+44% curse effect, +25%,+35%=104% curse effect.
+44% aura effect, +70% aura=114% aura effect.
95.4% slow effect self cast.
.59 effect via blasphemy. =56.286% aoe slow from blasphemy+temp chains.

slow magnitude is a debuff, it multiplies into this.
15%+30%+34%+10%=89%

106% passive aoe slow effect.

Apex of the moment is ANOTHER aoe slow. 20%
74% increased slow mag. (it doesn't get encumbarnce, which was a support for blasphemy)
=34.8% aoe slow.

slows multiply into each other. so this would be 106x1.34.8%= 142.888% aoe slow.

Chill and hinder. Chill is ANOTHER source of slow.. so could lock down bosses without freezing, or anything via frostbolt.
chill is capped at 50%. Hinder is MOVEMENT slow and adds into this. we even get 15% hinder on our curses. and also multiples in. but only as movement, not action speed.

Bosses and party play. so, this is 100% viable for solo play. but, I did lean it towards party aura botting. malice scepter, etc. can even get 50% inc exposure, etc.

15% less Slow effect on Magic monsters
30% less Slow effect on Rare monsters
50% less Slow effect on Unique monsters

Additionally, Slows have 10% less effect on all monsters for each player in the area beyond the first.
121% slow versus magic.
100% slow versus rare.
71% slow versus unique.

and 10% less per player.

As noted, chill puts it all back over 100% again.
142.88x1.5 chill=214% slow.
214% slow, .5 versus every boss in the game= 107.16% slow.

literally nothing on screen moves at all.
damage? frost bolt for aoe chilling ground can lock down 100% slow as noted.
chaos degens are of course matched well with skill effect duration, temp chains. and all along the pathing.
the build is setup up to be a skeleton for the cheese. apply whatever other defense/offense you want.

the scepter can give great benefits to allys as an aurabot in party play.
take the 50% exposure, to give to allies, etc. Conduit. and spam culling power siphon.
lit warp to give shocking ground.

Further shenanigans. time freeze of course. +115% duration.

They really must have been hard pressed to just finish the first 3 campaign acts to release EA. So much of this stuff was already weeded out of PoE1 ages ago and its here in full effect (and easy as shit to accomplish).

Blaphemy curses benefitting from aura effect was literally tagged out of PoE1 (Everything in PoE1 reads as Non-Curse Auras outside of a few curse specific exceptions). Might as well enjoy it while it lasts.

EDIT: Does skill effect duration work on non-ailment DoTs? Could you basically perma chaos DoT the entire map by applying all your chaos dots + Contagion to the first mobs in the zone then using either Unearth or Zombies (which will live for an extremely long time as a result) to spread all those dots via Contagion when you res them from a Contaminated corpse?

I think they were hard pressed to finish Act 4, so went endgame instead for EA.

There's a bunch of island maps that are clearly going to be in Act 4, so at least some of that was done.

Theory is that they are working off a PoE 1 branch from back when PoE 2 was announced, so some backend bug fixing and QoL from PoE 1 is missing for that reason.

My personal theory is that a bunch of stuff has been purposefully cut from Act 1-3 to keep release fresh, multiple zones have what seem like empty boss arenas and some gameplay trailer bosses are missing.
