You can put a 2H weapon with high damage(not dps) in your weapon swap. Then, assign herald of ice and lightning to that weapon set only. It will do damage based on that weapon, not your main one. And you get your reservation back.

Most notable for unarmed builds that would otherwise have shitty weapon damage for herald chaining and have to use cast on freeze - freezing mark, which is not as reliable.

EDIT: actually, not sure on lightning, but I did test ice.

It works with Ash and Ice but not Thunder for some reason.

I'm guessing it will get patched to only work when that weapon set is the active one.

Ash and Ice are triggered by "global" events while Thunder is triggered by weapon attacks. This probably means there are other auras you can stuff on weapon set 2 and still benefit from while cheating the reservation.

It will get fixed, but not sure how fast.

Thunder is triggered the same way as ice and ash (on kill with attacks). It just provides a buff to subsequent attacks instead of creating an on death effect. I would imagine you are correct about other spirit gems offering their bonuses while set to your inactive weapon swap.

Maybe the buff is linked to the other weapon?

What list? GGG just said "There will be a patch" and then the guy made some shit up.
Sounds like the majority of POE2 youtube content(that's not specifically about a build). So much just conjecture and bullshit to get you to watch their 10 min videos. I'm trying to avoid them all at this point, so the youtube algorithm can stop forcing 100 POE2 vids on me every day.

don't see any announcements from other streamers, but interview coming sunday night

He better have a plan for discussing end game vision. After playing a good bit of spark archmage in t15s i’m replaying through the campaign in ssf and man the bosses are so great and challenging and I think it would be really cool if campaign gameplay carried into maps. Is that or isn’t that the overall vision, that’s what I want to know. If it is, some big changes need to be made.

My theory is that only 1/3rd of the bosses are out, some are missing from Act 1-3 and then 4-6 ones obviously.

Every map needs a boss at release.

As it is, I keep fighting that mushroom man boss over and over.

that's obvious, the question is do they want players fighting the bosses or insta gibbing them.

It does carry into maps, the bosses are exact copies of campaign bosses. You just have better skills and gear in maps (and the game is just broken atm).

If you're saying you want to always feel weak well, you're a fairly big minority in that opinion.

ya sure, I know - ya i'm a minority player here who'd like to continue to campaign challenge into maps and i'd like them to balance as such. obviously I won't get what I want but according to what they sold what i'm wanting was the vision. Impactful hard fights for impactful meaningful loot.

idk some bosses are still pretty tough at T16 with atlas mods + map mods. A couple are pushovers, but most can an definitely fuck you up. There's a reason the Atlas boss mods exist.

The pace of the fights gets sped up but the lethality is still there.

I agree with him to an extent. There can be a happy medium between fun encounters and one shots. Right now the way its implemented is so bad. Why create these unique encounters of the only way to beat them is more damage?

How I would do it is completely separate the mapping and bossing loops with incentives for each loop to compliment the other in some way. This creates symbiotic relationships for the market

I think when you say bosses you mean the actual aspirational "challenge" bosses. Not map bosses.

I have to be honest I dont think there is any place in this genre for mapping to be as long winded and tedious as the campaign is on a fresh start (after you've spent enough time actually getting upgrades). ~20 actual hours of mapping (not 20 hours into a new league, but actual time spent mapping) and you should reasonably be at the point where you can overpower map bosses. And yea, there should be a boss in every map, the current Atlas setup is not interesting or fun.

If you guys are saying that the pinnacle/uber/aspirational content bosses should be far more challenging, well I agree. That's kind of the point of that content and it should be optional and rewarding for the extra challenge.

The game is just not even close to balanced at all. Those bosses are actually challenging on many "normal" builds not using one of the overtuned interactions and I believe thats how it will be in the long run, with the caveat that PoE will always be a game where the ceiling is almost impossible to reach and players with enough time and currency will always be able to build characters that can 1 shot even the pinnacle bosses.

The difference between PoE1 and PoE2 at this point is it takes little to no effort, time or currency to be able to do that in PoE2 whereas it does in PoE1.

Yea map bosses might as well be tanky rares. The current system is beyond retarded.
