On the plus side the comments are amazing. I just dont get why he felt the need to try to lie to a punch of PoE nerds, it was obvious weeks ago he wasn't playing and he kept it up.

In all seriousness it seems like Elon is preparing for a transition (heh heh heh) into politics and this is just part of the process (in his mind) for ingratiating himself to certain voter populations.

That's why I think he's pretending to be hooked into games and gamer culture.

Yeah… the ever coveted hardcore reliable voting block of “video gamers.”

I think more likely the dude happens to like video games at least casually, but obviously doesn’t have the time to spend on it that most people in this thread do. Combine that with being a super wealthy narcissist and it’s no surprise at all imo

Are you under the impression that this isn't and hasn't become a huge portion of the younger population?
Depends on how you define huge but I can agree gaming has become more significant for younger people, who are the historically least reliable voting block known to man.

What's SSF? Is that like playing on a solo "server" that you can't trade or interact with anyone else?

Yes, its still online and part of the live service features so you still get leaderboards and such but you don't have access to any trade features.

yes.

a SSF character can't trade, or join public parties. they can share loot/stash with your own other SSF characters in that league.
SSF towns and global chat are ssf only. interacting with other SSF in that way. can't trade or invite to parties though.

The idea is to enforce a more engaging loot experiance. having to make choices on build, and etc based on what you actually have, not just immediately solving on gear problems by buying Best in slot rares, or build enabling uniques. you need "snakepit"? you need to chance it. pick up every pearl ring and throw orbs at it.

That's kind of cool. I do really like the crafting system, but it would be pretty brutal without the currency exchange which I also assume is disabled on ssf. Maybe once I'm a bit more adept at all the systems I'll give SSF a try.

Why do you like wisdom scrolls with more steps?
Saving up whites and using essences has allowed me to craft wands for my Stormweaver with +4 lightning and good +%damages for around 30 exalts when similar shit on trade is a divine at least. Takes a bit more time and saving white drops, but I mean...that's playing the game. Once I'm high enough for high tier maps going to do the same for a +5 lightning spell wand, because those prices are nuts on trade.

You probably aren't filtering your currency right, you can find plenty of +5 wands for exalts. Set your currency filter to exalt instead of relative.

Do you think that method is feasible during the campaign? Once I got out of act 1, gear progression started lagging despite picking up relevant drops, visiting merchants, and gambling.

When I make SSF league starters in PoE1, I plan around a screaming essence + benchcraft on a third best base. My experience in PoE2 is that you cannot depend on even that little bit of reliability. There are simply not enough pulls of the lever and some of those pulls are annoying.

Remember when that piece of shit armor finally 6-linked in PoE1? I'm starting to get that same reaction to the transmute - augment - regal finally hits non-shit affixes. The only saving grace is that 6L likely lasted you a while. You're going to need pull that transmute - augment - regal on a new base in ~10 levels. Or extend the sequence to 1-3 exalts.

Well, I think he was asking you why you liked it because in PoE1 there are orbs that let you just continuously re-roll the blue mods on an item without ever needing to find a new base. You can do that over and over until you are satisfied whereas in this game you roll 2 blue mods, than pray on the regal or greater essence (lol like those exist) and then have to start over by finding a new base if its shit.

Just another "perk" of not being spoiled by POE1. Thanks for making me enjoy the game less!

I think it's a waste during campaign, though you can always use the few essences you get during campaign to try and at hit at least a few of your key gear pieces with. But yeah, during campaign on both my characters, vendors were a more rewarding gear progression than crafting.

im sure he cares for more then just +skills.
here's a search for wands I would consider upgrades from my ssf wand.
+4 to all skills, and 85% crit is the min. mana, cast speed of any level then welcome.
30+ divines.

Saving whites for crafting is ass. I have like 4 fucking tabs of expert keth/hexers.
AND, that does jack shit for Jewels. Can't just get a white/blue jewel and reroll it. nope. got to actually go farm that shit. trial after trial

Yeah, this is my primary thoughts on SSF crafting.

-Bring back Alterations. This allows rerolling of white>blue bases. instead of filling up inventory with white bases..

-SSF currency trade/vendor recipe. SSF needs to be able to convert one currency into another. you could do this in PoE1 via vendors.

-Essences 10x more common. either, see them every map/zone in campaign, or they litterally drop 10x more shards. Essances are worse in poe2 then 1.. how? they add this deterministic crafting idea, then make them so rare, they might as well not exist.

-Omens. same problem. introduced ritual in act 1. we never see it again till maps. theres 17 kinds of omens. Ritual needs to show up throughout the campaign. Omens need to be a guaranteed favor option. 1-2 per. between 17 kinds, and being consumed by use, they would still always be in demand, and not enough. omens would solve much of the problems.. if they were 10x more common.
(also fix the map generation, and unit collision/stun on spawn issues)

-ability to replace runes.
