Sucks, was looking forward to some fresh PoE1, but it'll happen when it happens I guess.

They do need to mix it up with PoE2 sooner than later, hopefully 0.2 comes out within weeks not months from now. If they don't do a major shakeup until like mid-spring they're going to lose a lot of players.

I did laugh at a post saying, "Sacrificing your old diehard fanbase to work on an early access game is certainly a bold strategy." Your ACTUAL diehard fanbase isn't doing anything but being sad we're waiting longer. We ain't hopping over to D4 or deleting PoB anytime soon.

Jonathon maybe should have stuck to being a behind the scenes person. Sounds like the eyes were bigger than the stomach so to speak every step of the way. Ever since they pushed back the PoE 1 league to merge accounts so you didn't lose your MtX. I've noticed a few streamers wanting new league to 1 or 2, something.

Well, my game's dead. I didn't think they would sunset Path of Exile this soon but here we are.

Not being willing to give a date at all still takes March off the table.

Hahahahaha, both games are doomed, shit sucks.

The amount of work that Path of Exile 2 still needs is going to require the continued cannibalization of PoE1. We'll know in another year or two if this was the right call but at this exact moment it feels like I'm watching a farmer eat his seed crop.

These guys just made probably 300 million dollars or more off poe2, probably closer to half a billion dollars, poe1 is going on the back burner and it was obvious.

Regardless of how much they made, or whatever is left after Tencent took their "cut", anybody who spends another dime on either game for the foreseeable future has got shit for brains. It's clearer than ever that EA was little more than a holiday season cash-grab, and now the piper is demanding payment too. Big hit to GGG's reputation imo.

Yeah I both love POE1 and want POE2 to improve, but it seems they don't have enough staff to do either of those things, at least not concurrently.

Look guys. I know you POE1 players are upset about POE2 taking resources away from your favorite game, but just remember how amazing Everquest 2 was and how we all left EQ1 and relived our best gaming lives in EQ2?

Wait a second...

Looks like I was right to stop buying supporter packs in 2022. I mean, I wish I wasn't.

Or Warhammer Online after DAoC.

Sequels don't have a great track record.

(I still enjoyed PoE2 way more than I ever did PoE1.)

I like Poe 2 and will continue to play, but I’ve already got $100 and have enough coins to buy whatever waystone tab they come up with so they won’t be getting money from me anytime soon.

They're not going to sell as many supporter packs as they think they should with 3.26 and that'll be further justification to bail.

The scope creep and the fact they can't afford to have dual stack developing both games is unacceptable after their promises. The business model is there. You could easily push packs in both games and continue to develop both games. Its just greed plain and simple. Its very obvious Tencent wants certain margins and isn't willing in investing a dual stack team which is a shame cause I believe the Mark/Chris/Jonathan would 100% want to do this. I'm not totally calling it in until I see their next big content patch for POE2 but I remain pessimistic on the futures.

I went into wanting to hate Jonathan for this but I'm not so sure this falls on him at all. The success or failure of POE2 does though definitely, but I'm not judging him on that yet.

Other than the $30 fee for people that wanted early acess what money is PoE 2 bringing in? They aren't buying supporter packs each league and very little new mtx is in game for PoE 2. Riding on the money and fame PoE 1 brought in I guess. Not everyone paid the $30 either. I have noticed a number of post on reddit and such by people that are entirely new to world of PoE wonder how long that is going to last. Even stash tabs can't be that be of an income producer in 2. Who knows, GGG probably knows but isn't talking oviously nor should they.

There was a full suite of supporter packs for Path of Exile 2 at a time when people were still optimistic. A lot of people spent way more than thirty dollars.

I spent $30, then upgraded to the $100 pack when the $30 pack wasn’t enough for all the stash tabs I wanted.

Those fucking assholes.

Look I know its built on old tech or whatever but they could have streamlined the new player experience. Now we are getting an EQ2 situation all over again.
