So BG3 was in EA for 3 years and opened with I think 1/3 of the game.

PoE 2 has been in EA for 3 months and opened with 1/2 the game. They have 2 years and 9 months to keep pace with BG3.

I'm not sure why time in alpha is relevant or angering you, you didn't pay for that and wasn't forced to play nothing else while you waited. Obviously they were working on PoE 1 leagues which slowed PoE 2 development down.

The question should be if the content released is adequate for the cost and comparable to other EA offers in terms of how much of the game is playable. It clearly is, people, even some complaining, put 100s of hours in.

Go team retard!

I enjoyed a game for 100+ hours, which I pretty much finished, and was a clear upgrade to the previous game.

I then played Oxygen Not Included and painted 1000 points of Warhammer 40k.

I'm looking forward to the new class and gems next month.

But the smart people are raging at a dev on an internet forum. Really?

Of all the faults PoE2 has, and there are many, attracting this low effort disingenuous retard to ARPG threads has be worst.

I finally had to block him.

Really though I see no reason to play this over Last Epoch next month if PoE2 end game is going to be the same. LE is apparently revamping their entire endgame so thats like 30-50 hours or something of stuff to do per season if its any good.

LE til I get bored -> check out the Huntress and any new skill/support gems they've added in PoE2

I will say that the timing on release seems like there is clear intent behind it. GGG is trying to turn into a behemoth and is acting like it. Things aren't looking good in that regard from my perspective. They're getting Blizzardified and they are losing whatever goodwill they've earned over the years at record pace.

I have plenty of played time but there are a lot of faults with PoE2. Graphics, first 3 acts, and fluid combat are the game's strength. The end game and crafting pretty much need to be overhauled. The idea of the towers is okay, but just not implemented well. Last Epoch has them beat in that regard. The maps are just pieces of what the first acts displayed with extra zones that probably are represented in the future acts. The end game really has this "Thrown together in a hurry" feel. It is a shame with everything they have to draw from in the first game. It is almost as if the first game never existed and this is their first attempt.

I enjoy the game because it is fun to play, but it lacks depth. It is why I will log on and play for like an hour and then quickly get bored. That will stop for a while when the new patch in Last Epoch drops. I just do not think this next patch for PoE2 is going to be that big of a deal. The hype feels way off. I think the company needs to truly figure out what they want to do with the first game. In all honesty, they should just scrap it and devote all resources to PoE2.

Except when I was posting in the PoE thread since beta? And the Diablo threads too?

figured out why streamers were so uppity about the date announcement, turns out LE has a get a cosmetic for 2 gifted subs thing going on twitch for the season start, the poe2 update likely ruins a fairly large chunk of change for a bunch of them

I'm loving it. Finally, found a way to fit all my favorite Uniques into my build. Pillar, HOWA, Ventor, Headhunter.
Not the most S Tier build, but it's working great at 91 and getting better all the time.

Meh.

Edit - I enjoyed both builds to 90 in Phrecia more than anything I did in PoE2. And that would be 6 builds to 90+, and 1 to 100, in various forms of Settlers League and all were more fun than PoE2.

I remain hopeful for PoE 2 at some point, so I am not a hater quite yet. But I have reservations.

I haven't played LE since.....checks Steam Library, sheesh I even have it in Hidden.......January 19, 2022.

Pending PoE 1 next league launch, I may actually end up back in LE.

Im not a hater. I dont band wagon. If Im going to play something, Ill play it. If not I wont. Same w/other entertainment.

I liked LE for what it was, but its been a year since Ive heard anything significant from LE. The game isnt even on my computer anymore and I rarely delete games on this computer because I just generally dont need to. Ill reinstall the game and play the update just because it is a good little ARPG. But Eleventh Hour games (fitting name) has lost their fucking mind if they think people are going to pay for cosmetics and all that bullshit - bullshit you would buy after playing the release - with how little they've paid attention to the game since its release.

POE2 has really got to up the ante as well because this is supposed to be an "early access." Which it seems like everyone under the sun was thinking we're going to get update after update after update and its been anything but. As far as Im concerned, what they put out for EA was actually release for them and they fucked off to a vacation after dropping it. Im with BoozeCube BoozeCube on the campaign though. Thats where the game hooked me. As soon as I got into crafting, learned how truly rare some of the mats I was using actually were.. and the atrocious end game... I quietly put this shit down and went and played something else. POE 2 needs a ton of work at that spot and POE 1 just feels "old" to me. LIke running around with the hot 25 year old thats a fucking whore and a blast to hang around, versus running around with the stable, ready to settle down "meh" 32 year old chick.

Serious question...

How far has the population dropped since about the first month of early release?

Has their been any updates to the game that moved the needle?

I expected there to be much more frequent updates than there has been. I went hard ( for me ) for about the first month and ended up losing all interest in the end game.

1. Alot

2. No

3. There is something coming first week in April but most here think it will not do much to change the poor endgame yet.
