Also fuck they should just get rid of unveils; just have that shit open up with gold payments or something . Or just grant a bunch with each jun mission you complete (maybe 10 total to unlock them all)

I think you're going to be disappointed most of the time if that's the only changes you consider content. Especially since they've already confirmed to have moved away from the once yearly big atlas shuffle.

if they take a year to make something out of PoE2 while completely abandoning PoE1, this will be accompanied by a major loss in the playerbase.

I trusted in GGG right up to the point where they flat out lied about separate games and separate teams.

I don't know if they have or will have killed off PoE 1 and PoE 2, but pretty sure they have put a pretty major dent in both.

PoE2 will probably be a Diablo style "success" no matter what. It introduced A LOT of new players into that gaming world and they will come back for new leagues the way they do for Diablo 4. It won't even matter how good the actual game is. And I'm starting to think that's actually the goal. They looked at the low effort, high payout of Diablo 4 and are now being driven by the financial side of things first and foremost. The next Blizzard.

I'm starting to think this is not the result of "fucking up" but rather intended and by design.

I do expect this patch reveal to be very good. It's just not going to be good enough to justify putting PoE on the shelf for this long.

I'm such a normie player nowadays that PoE2 is really a game that fit me much better than PoE1.

My autistic friends still go back to PoE1 to grind even now. I tried Phrecia event but gave up at 81, its so tiresome to try and understand the shit in it even after playing multiple Leagues in a row.

I do hope they keep both going strong so theres a game for both audiences.

Money is money in the end and PoE2 pulled in a lot of players.

I just wish they had not released it and gone into hiding for xmas. More smaller updates faster and then a big one now and then. But maybe they will blow us all away tonight with their livestream.

So they announced that the patch notes won't be available after todays stream, and some people are pretty pissed.

Can someone way smarter than me tell me why it's such a huge deal? Is it because some of the teased stuff may not end up working the way they showcased, since changes are still being made? Or is it more.because they generally are released directly after a reveal?

They've set a precedence for a while now of reveal then immediately dropping the patch notes. Functionally, I don't think it makes much of a difference as long as it comes soon enough to plan builds. However, it represents another slippage in execution. Perhaps not angry, but concerning.

What's soon enough though? The patch is next week. Are they even gonna be ready if they don't have the patch notes close enough to finalized to release yet?

EDIT: Also, I don't know how people sit through these reveals. I've never watched one that wasn't entirely cringe. Awkward nerds asking awkward questions to other awkward nerds.
