I spent time in quite a few gaming groups throughout my teens and into my early 30s. Almost every single group had a dude who looked very similar to Jonathan - down to the mannerisms, his viewpoints on gaming/game systems, etc. And nearly every single one of them was some sort of sex pest.
Gaming "culture" is one of the fucking worst, I fucking swear. Only surpassed in its fucking degeneracy by Weebs and Jews.

It's really unfortunate 0.2 began as two steps backward. Alright guys, for the entire content cycle you are now slightly in the green. Loot's still bad and the meta is highly condensed but we're moving forward.
Yeah I barrelled through A1 cruel after work today but using rake / lightning spear is pretty fucking boring. Have some lvl 13 gems but purposefully not using em yet since those skills probably suck, too.

So it took me ~31 hours played to get to maps, was broken then unbroken minion build so literally like 4 hours or more were just Jamaran in Act 2. Here was my haul with my pilferer:
Would've liked to have seen about 2x the exalts as I literally slam my shit rather than buy gear, but it's not as bad as that doofus on Reddit. The biggest thing of note was the 5 lessers which is a huge change from 0.1 campaign.
In maps up to T5 now and the loot difference is insane. Two to three inventories of rares each blue rolled map, I have like 6% rarity? It's just the map rolls themselves with the sheer amount of rare mobs per map. It definitely could be a smoother curve from rare starvation to rare drowning.
Fun fact, ritual works like it does in PoE1. Find an exile? Bring his ass to a ritual. Kill him in it. Fight him 3-4 more times with full loot each time. Not sure how the guaranteed unique drops would work, but I think it rerolls his gear everytime he repops. Still pulled a lot of rare jewelry the one time I did it on accident.

Looks like they thought the could coast through with how 0.1 went but with the disaster that was 0.2 it finally lit a fire under their ass. Not going to get my hopes up but if they keep up with these levels of changes/adjustments they can still redeem themselves eventually.

Given the 0.1 sales and amount of people playing why not stay the course? Zero Point Two launches and recent reviews on Steam down to mostly negative, lots of negative content from a variety of streamers, player numbers nowhere near original 0.1 launch numbers and those people you do have didn't give you 29.95 again to be there. Well shit. I guess it's time to bust out basic functionality like "minion death timers are less crushing" and "I guess we'll let you change your ascendancy." A tab on the gemcutting page that shows you what skills you actually have? You spoil us sir.
They want to go in the right direction for a while it's fine by me but I'm pretty sure that Jonathan's estimate that it would take two weeks to iron out 0.2 and get back to work on PoE1 is going to get blown out the ass.

Yes they do. LE was a massive success at launch, EHG has just dropped the ball pretty badly since. This new season and the content within it does look very promising though.

I don't think anyone is expecting, or wanting, any one game to "take the crown". The large majority of any playerbase within either game is likely hoping they both end up being great games on somewhat alternating patch cycles.
