Also, the passive tree is not really the problem, at least it wasnt in POE1. Sure you could totally go off the rails, but if you stuck with the general area where you started you would probably do ok. Like, hey im using an axe, maybe I should take those axe nodes? The problem as a noob in POE1 is more the defense stacking to survive and also what skill to use out of the 50 or so available. Its totally overwhelming as a noob when you see that first gem merchant and the rows and rows of skill gems and supports. All different colors and shit... Its not like Diablo where you get like 4 skills in your primary skill tree and you just pick one and invest in it. Also depending on your sockets on your gear, sure you could do some experimenting, but not much.

Guild stash tabs are not carrying over, the actual guild and social features should carry over. We'll see Friday.

Only way Ive found is by looking over my transaction history (i had to do the same thing this morning to see what I had and what else I needed to buy).

Log into the PoE website. Click your account name in the upper left corner (just above your character portrait). From the menu options on the right hit View Transactions, then hit the View Microtransactions button and you will see a list of everything you spent money on.
Sweet, looks like I got 1 extra tab (first blood pack), currency, map, 1 premium, divination, essence, and fragment.

Probably be good to go for at least a little while with that.

Problem with POE1 is that, yeah you could prolly make it through the acts on a home made build as a noob, but once you got into end game you would get destroyed and either quit in frustration or roll up another, because its too expensive to redo an entire build.

My first league I made my own build. Points into whatever looked good and whatever I picked up and was rewarded for items and skill gems.

It kind of worked, for a while. I went heavy into defense and life and even resist. I finally got to a point that I almost never died, of course it either took forever to kill anything or I didn't kill it at all and gave up.

Yeah it only holds one of each unique which fills up fast. Stuck them in there while doing campaign to disenchant when I got my disenchanter up to max level to disenchant uniques but I found out once you put one item you couldn't put in another of the same.

I'm still in wait and see mode. I'll probably wait until the game goes live and free because I'm not sure WASD and me will work together that well, but that's a me problem.

Got 400 points or so from buying a couple of supporter packs. So if I go that way got a few points to spend on tabs or whatever.
It's not even that it "only holds 1" that makes it bait. It's the fact that most uniques are total garbage and not worth keeping around 1 of, let alone multiples.

There are a few that help you level a new char, but you can easily throw those in a "leveling" tab that's also useable for other shit. And the build defining ones you're likely going to equip or also toss in the "leveling" tab for your new build.

I remember watching preach try PoE1 blind and just skipping all the survivability nodes for moar damage, then at one point just going from fine to continuously dying

There was nothing in POE1 to stop anyone from bricking a build. And by the time you realize, you prob have a good 20+ hours into it.

Where I ran in to trouble early on was not knowing what the nodes actually did. Sure, I can read them and a lot of them are straightforward but others not so much. Does Increased Fire Damage affect my Flame Golems? I sure thought so.

Unfortunately it does seem like they are keeping some of the more obtuse/silly verbiage things intact in PoE2.

Like how "More" and "Increased" mean different things, same as "Less" and "Reduced" meaning different things.

What's the better way to do that? Assuming they want some to multiply and some to add.

They should normalize their calculations/formulas to a point where the idiocy that is gigantic MORE mulitipliers (which essentially breaks the game) just doesn't exist.

I don't see any reason that those end of calculation multipliers should be a thing. Why have all this layered nuance and then just slap an actual multiplier onto the end of it (and then take it even further by having things like double and even triple damage)

It's the lack of feedback within the game that's the pisser. "Hey download and learn to use this third party program"

is a big ask.

IDK about you guys, but getting all my third party shit in order was the most exciting part of firing up WoW Classic. Maybe that says more about WoW Classic...
