I never understood the idea of copying someone else's build. Isn't a lot of the fun of these kinda games figuring out for yourself what works? It is for me at least.
Think it has a lot more to do with respeccing, its cost, or its availability in general. In POE 2, that is supposedly not an issue anymore. Ill be more inclined to experiment with a build when I can just use gold to respec.

100% is for some. My ADHD brain just gets analysis paralysis and I bounce to something else, so sometimes I want that handled and want to just play the game, prevent the friction.

Going into this pretty blind though (I've never made it through chapter 2 of PoE 1) and don't really care, at least for launch. Later on if it's difficult to change then that'd probably just impact my longevity with the game. Will cross that bridge when I get to it.

Right this was my biggest problem. It's not that I didn't have an idea in mind when I started fleshing out a build in PoE, but it's not really apparent to an auslander that certain things will scale better, certain uniques exist, or particular passives will enable degenerate combos.

I'm more fond of like "oh hey these arrows ricochet and shoot chain lightning now" and build it out, rather than preplan a build based on theoretical item drops and just slam my dick into a drawer until you go infinite when you get the final piece.

So for me it's better if things are flatter and it's easier to move stuff around as you go, because that way you can maximize what you do get and just play the game, rather than kind of grind passively until you get specific drops then go play the game.

I'm only leery of WASD because I have zero strength in my left arm. Not actual usefuless of a normal person in game. Which is why I modified my LS build to gain flask charges on crit and had 98% crit. I almost never used a flask.

This only works if gold is plentiful compared to the costs which we dont know yet.

I already have a 40 hour a week job. I don't need a second one trying to figure out 1500 skill tree nodes.

Figuring out how to break the game is the game! What's left if character progression is solved? Boss encounters?

Iirc they did mention that respecs would be very cheap early on comparatively, but get more expensive later(probably scaled off your level). You likely won't want to change your entire tree over and over, but you'll probably be able to make small adjustments pretty easily. You can also kinda do that in poe1, it's just you have the added barrier of having to find people selling bulk regrets and converting your currency into currency they want and all that, which is a pain in the dick, and it also makes it very inaccessible early(you do get some respec points but it's so few it can't fix a big fuckup like new players do).

Might have missed this, is someone starting the guild up in the early access? Did they even say if there’d be guilds?

If no one else will, Ill step up to do it. But Im putting no more effort into it than I did the D4 guild. Pretty sure Jonathan Rogers... I think thats the guy with the glasses, anyways - said that we would have all the basic social features in.

Yea. That same guy, again, assuming its Jonathan Rogers is the one with the glasses - said that we'll be able to easily respec with an ever increasing gold cost. That was in the big POE 2 reveal last week iirc.

Problem with POE1 is that, yeah you could prolly make it through the acts on a home made build as a noob, but once you got into end game you would get destroyed and either quit in frustration or roll up another, because its too expensive to redo an entire build.

Supposedly guilds in poe1 will be shared with poe2. We do have a forum guild in poe1, so if you are in it, it should be there ready to go. Will know in 3 days.

Uh didn't they say the exact opposite and that guilds aren't carrying over
