It's really effective and feels good once you've got it going. I should mess w/ firewall stuff too, but I basically an focused on those 3 abilities and the weapon skill at this point.

Chain gem on freezing shards wrecks stuff, and once you have the unleash gem on ice nova it does so much more. Those are the 2 gems I'd want to get first.

Edit, yeah my staff is partly why I went all frost as well.

I've yet to find a weapon that does Freezing Shards/Cold Damage

Done for tonight... got to 15 and am at the manor at what I presume is the end of Act 1.

The almost 8 hours I've played of this is about 1/4 of my total play time of PoE1, lol.

Really? That's actually shitty. Hope they fix that.

I am level 13 I think. Played for 3 hours. Using a controller which works great. Sorc, using flame wall and spark for most things, but the ember skill that loads up bolts and shoots them out does massive single target though really hard to use on bosses since you need to move around so much.

So far, loving it.

I did have one drop and upgraded it a bit,

Thanks, got the invite. It's not rubber banding but at times there are stutters in doing things. Sometimes you just notice it and sometimes it's annoying when among some stuff you are trying to kill.

Can you not click on the Sorc tab in the gem cutting UI and choose another classes ability?

I guess I win, technically I didn't spend any time in a queue at all. I couldn't log in earlier so I went to bed. When I woke up hours later there was no queue at all.

I got this staff at level 6. it was just the +2 all spell. Everything else is slammed onto it.

Act 1 boss was no joke. Maybe Minion Andy made it harder but it will probably make a lot of people mad.

It has some chaos stuff too but it's very undevelopped yeah, you basically have to go sorc stuff if you want to do caster. When you unlock skill gems you can just pick the sorc ones you don't have to stick to witch stuff(or any of them really) and then you just use whatever weapons drop for that playstyle. The early nodes function fine for spellcasting and blood mage supports it nicely(and infernalist if you want to go fire) so it's not bad if you don't want to do stormweaver/time mage.

In the occult category damage wise it's basically just ED+Contagion combo, I don't think there was even Soul Rend and Wither is only on supports now, and there's not the curse related stuff yet either, just the curses, which suck dicks at the level you unlock them at(same for offerings for minions, fucking 6s buff that also consume one of your skeleton for only 30% speed).

Minions also suffer somewhat from the early spirit costs. You don't get a lot of "slots" for minions like you can in poe1 early. You get fodder summons with Unearth and you get free melee

well from following some streamers, minion builds are good when they get going - mathil's monk is destroying. personally, arc sucked dick so re-geared into freeze bolt / blast which was slightly better. Rough going for caster for me but maybe gear issue.

There's some funky shit going on with some of the stuff. I started in one class and then tried a ranger just to see. Every time I kill anything I get a 5 second or so freeze like a disconnect is coming. Only happens on the ranger.

And it's like moon walking all the time, you shoot one direction and you don't walk but slide the other direction the entire time. Then eventually you stop sliding and can walk back to where you started. Odd. I gave up quickly after I died a number of times over and over because it was like trying to run/attack on a slip and slide I was always moivg this way and that way without an animation juts sliding and pointing in different directions. Only did it on the ranger. Tried it with mouse and wasd, same. Couldn't shoot while sliding.

You might just be canceling your attacks by clicking too much maybe?

So I have 29 spirit unreserved. I upgrade my minion gem which lower reservation on that minion. Still 29 unreserved, what am I missing?

I started as a Ranger. I liked the idea of being able to roll when I first heard it was in, but now it seems like all you do for boss fights (and even some hard named fights) is roll, roll, roll. I'm on console with a controller and I'm already tired of it. Rename this to Path of Rolling. Would love to see this get toned down a tad.

Since ports are free (love this) I sell everything every time I get full, and I've used the cash to buy items and gamble on some. Gambling has been paying off so far, what with the dearth of drops (another thing I like).
