Two Legendary drops, and two Legendary items broken down for mats. A staff, and a cool looking helm with 29 armor...my current helm has 104. Itemization is pretty bleak. Loving the game, but FFS the drops are so rare, and so shitty.

Yup, got booted.

As for all the negativity, definitely submit feedback. This is early access, so complain complain complain about the shitty aspects.
I don't disagree, but the feedback in this case feels like core redesigns rather than tweaks.

Twenty minutes in to a reroll I genuinely hate the game. I'm tapping out on this version of the beta. I'm happy to give it another go at later stages but for the immediate future I'm heading to the sidelines.

TOO. MANY. ADDS. Seems antithetical to the skill set up and pace of combat.
I fought that boss right where he spawns, on the point of the ledge - also as a cold sorc. I think it's out of adds aggro range perhaps as when I went further up I got them throwing spears at me and more hyenas spawned. When I moved him back to the point of the ledge no more adds came. I just ran tight loops around him in melee range and did my usual frost bomb and spam frostbolt, cold snap when he gets frozen. That boss has only frontal melee swings so if you dive roll behind him when he attacks nothing will hit you.

Also for the act1 boss that some people are having trouble with, I circled him at maximum range keeping him at the edge of the screen. That way you've got heaps of time to react to his dashes and other attacks. I continually ran circles around him at huge range dropping frost bomb on him, spamming frostbolt and occasional cold snap.
When all the adds spawned I frost bomb on myself and spam nova until they all died then went back to circling the boss.
I had level 5 spells at the time, not sure what level but I'm going to say ~16 based on my current passive tree. My tree is just a choose your own adventure heading towards the best looking offensive passives. Path of winter, Critical Overload, then heading straight up towards the big cluster of frost passives.

The things Ive had the most trouble with were not bosses but trash mobs that are dangerous at long range. I think the spiked poison crabs in bramble forest and those succubus things that rapid fire needle in the Manor each killed me ~3 times due to carelessness. I'm a lot more careful on bosses and so have 1 shot almost all of them. The Consort banshee chick in the graveyard killed me once with her huge high damage AEs.

Not playing but so far the crafting for early stuff looks okay, no idea what is going to happen later on. Of course that assumes you get the items you want to craft on from drops.

I will try that. Nothing is a problem in the fight beside the combination of too many small hits or one big hit from the boss. The guys shooting from the ledge are a non-factor. But I seem to recall instances of lower adds coming occasionally, maybe because I was in the area you describe.

Taking a break for now though lol.

Edit - suck my dick - third try to 2% health and got stuck in a corner and mobbed - even ice nova couldn't save me. This really IS Dark Souls.

Edit 2 - I can deal with masses of adds OR the boss, but not both. Either I get mobbed and die from a thousand cuts, or focus the adds, and die to a boss attack from across the arena. Sorry, I am frustrated.
Fight him north towards the wall where you have to deal with the spears being thrown at you instead. Easier that way, at least that's what I found.

Trying to get decent feedback on any other site on this game is seemingly impossible. Everyone is either completely dicksucking it to absurd degrees and white knighting it for some peculiar reason. Even when some people mention contrasts between the two games that make sense.

Going to be annoying to sift through it.

Me if some other company made this game and adequately explained what it was:

"Oh cool, that's a bit different. A souls game with ARPG elements. I'll play that."

And after playing it through:

"Shit that was rough but fun, pretty good game. Lots of interesting interactions."

Me playing a game called Path of Exile 2 from Grinding Gear Games:

"Fucking Christ they took a step backwards in literally every regard. Dont think I'm even gonna finish the campaign and get to end game. This is not what I thought I was paying for. Guess now I know why there was such a tight lid on this piece of shit"

I finished Act3 but theres no fucking way I'm doing that again on Cruel. That's it for me

From what I've gathered on Reddit, this wasn't meant as a new chapter or replacement for PoE1, it was meant as something different to cater to another audience and they will continue running and supporting both.

Not trying to downplay your concerns though.

I am totally new to PoE, I've never played the first and I really dislike Souls games, but so far I'm really loving this.

Why can I not allocate a skill point to this node? It is just +5 any attribute but it says requirements not met.

*edit, got it. Guild chat helped. Didn't realize selecting the stat and applying the skill point was a 2-step process.

I did run into an issue when you start crossing over into another class, where you won't have the pre-requisite. Seems your was just the stat though.

But it was in an area I could never get the prereq so had to just reset em all.

I can deal with the difficulty but the drops need to be tweaked, if they aren't going to bias the drops towards my character at least give me more crafting mats!

I did get a chaos drop at the end of Act 1 though, lol.

It's funny, cause I actually was able to make some kickass rare weapons, but I basically used up the two alchemy stones I'd gotten. Haven't gotten one since.

Level 28 using an 18 weapon, and all my actual armor is lvl 5-12.

I found a blue two handed hammer with decent stats on it and +40% physical DMG. I used a regal on it and have just kept using it.

You definitely need to do every single sub boss as they drop support gems guaranteed on first kill. I think there is a legitimate argument on the current state of gear upgrades. Without more currency if you get a bunch of shitty rolls you're boned through no real fault of your own.

The only real perspective you need is that this game needs extreme replayability potential to be viable. That is what POE excels at and that is what Khane Khane is really criticizing over anything else. Different games different audiences aside their entire business model is about keeping you coming back.

My feedback is middle of the road. I am dealing with freeze, bleed, poison, and burning ground all before level 10; but I have no specific way to defend against ailments outside of my now single healing potion. I am not dropping enough gear or crafting mats to try and find answers, and they are not on the skill tree. Gambling for gear is cost prohibitive so that option is out, too. Also, is Warrior the only class that doesnt have an effective AOE attack from the beginning? Rolling slam and Earthquake are both slow and leave you super exposed.

With all that said, I am still enjoying the game and I think they will make many adjustments (although none will make melee not shit).

I am loving it.

my main complaints.

yes. adds, and getting overwhelmed in a few of those early fights.
many fights feel almost like bullet sponges. they just won't die.
first ascendry trial requires not getting hit. thats retarded. if I have full life, don't make me fail. its rally stupid, and must make some builds really hard. melee...

hit detection, and ground markers are often really bullshit. so many fights, attacks, get hit by some aoe that is 20% larger then the visual. stupid rocks falling from the ceiling and you can't tell where they are going to land in the 3d isometric. stupid silver gorilla in act3, with his slam which hits 20%outside the visual, and has a projectile thats basically invis, and totally unexpected. There is alot of this BS. they need to tight up the visuals versus hit box. and this is on top of the same problem from poe1 with so many spell effects you can't actually see the hostile ones.

bosses don't stop. just constant attacking. hell, im playing freeze sorc, so I get some time, when I freeze them periodically.
some kind of mana bar or something for bosses..

debuffs aren't really easy to read.
what even is the orange bar under the enemies?
