This is the start of my cold sorc, nice freeze build up. I want to go cold and lightning if possible, we'll see how gear is.

I didn’t get to play as much as I wanted today, just a few hours.
Anyways, picked up where I left off last night which was the manor in act 1, and boy did I have trouble with the final boss. I wasn’t coming close to beating him. I went out and read a few tips about my class, and made a few changes basically was doing what similar to what others were doing but out of order, so I respected about 7-8 points, went farming fir a few uncut gems to change some stuff and upgrade some gear. After that I went back and won the fight on my first attempt with about 3 drink left in my flask, so did him fairly easily I would say. Cold resist helped a lot too, as attacks dud way less damage.
Started act 2 up to the moving caravan without any real issues, the boss wasn’t that bad took me 3 tries. On the third attempt mostly stayed in melee range and it seems that he doesn’t use some of his attacks, but he was way easier, killed him before the adds spawned so had to kill the adds after he was dead.
All in all I’m having a blast and find the difficulty so far to be pretty good. It’s hard but beatable with some preperation. This coming from someone who sucks at souls game to the point that I don’t play them.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious they diverted resources away from PoE 1 to get PoE 2 "out the door".
Hopefully things can return to a relatively normal development cycle with PoE 1 now, because I think it's important for both games to co-exist. PoE 2 is clearly something very different from PoE 1 and I think it has a bright future.
However, I think PoE 1 is something that needs to exist when you want to take a break from the more "hardcore" aspects that PoE 2 offers the genre.

Turns out neither worked.
But if you stay at close melee range the entire time, he doesn't use his "call reinforcements" ability and you can just burn him down.
After about 12 deaths, I am on the caravan.

Those of you struggling is it mostly melee? I’ve found the fights intense (and too slow) but I’ve also either one or two shot everything up to end of act 2. But I’m a witch doing essence drain(with some kind of weird fire spell for extra damage in between), and not using minions because I’m a gamer not a fag. One thing I’m hearing a lot is having to chain roll and I feel like you’re doing something wrong if that’s happening, but also im not melee so not sure if that’s the reason.
My very limited outlook after only about 3 hours playing so far is I think the game needs to be about 10-15% faster in terms of action and movement speed for players (and maybe slightly faster for enemies) and about 30% less health for low level bosses, and it’d be near perfect. The loot I’m not sure about as I knew it wasn’t going to be like poe 1, definitely feels like starvation but too early for me to say for sure.

Also little tips in case people didn’t realize it (I overlooked some of this initially) - when your cutting support gems make sure you click of recommended, as there’s many options that might not be seen otherwise. Also make sure you select which weapon for each gem ; by default it selects both which is almost always wrong. Esp with how easy it is to get + levels on weapons early on.

Cheat code for Act 1 is: Ice Sorceress. It's fucking brutal compared to how slow my playthrough was with my Ranger. Got a staff with +2 Ice Shards, that also adds 2 levels to all cold spells, and +17% elemental magic. I've just face tanked every mini/special boss lol Three bonks with the staff and they freeze, then put up a wall of fire and an ice bomb, and go back to swinging to refreeze and do it again. Very fast kills and you can skip a lot of their mechanics. Just fucking lolz But all my skill points are in offense only, so glass cannon all the way baby!

The loot is fucking hot garbage in this game. I am 17, using a lvl 5 crossbow, lvl 2-11 or so armor, and a smattering of no lvl requirement items. Nothing drops that is useful for me as a merc, at all. Ive got 8 stash tabs of various blues and a few yellows just in case I reroll.
I might need to roll another class just to get loot for the merc. Guarantee I roll some other class and xbows will dropping like candy.
Stuck on Geonor or whatever due to the fact after he goes into phase 2, you are surrounded by an assload of adds and cant even roll out of it.

You're supposed to be selling everything and using the money to either buy stuff from vendors or gamble. Atleast I'm pretty sure that's what you should be doing.
