Searing Touch is super super super expensive thanks to Kripp and a good Sunblast is an exalt too.
And as I said, neither is necessary. And Sunblast is like 7-10chaos, not an exalt, at least on Nemesis. Searing Touch is really nice for leveling though, but a shitty dagger/wand with +1fire and 30%spell damage does the job just fine, Fire Trap is strong as fuck.

If anyone needs a guild, look me up in game. Playing as Grumblecake when I'm on with a few buddies, both of which are near 70 in domination (or whatever it's called).

Now that I've gotten over my phobia of my health bar moving down, I'm progressing a lot more quickly. I'm face tanking most bosses with ~1700hp in act 2 cruel, but some of the rares are a mother fucker still, specifically storm bringer (or something like that) and the vulnerability ones. I keep finding new support gems like faster casting and iron will. It really spices up the same shit I've been using for the past 40 levels.

When did Searing Touch become expensive? Last time I played (right before release) it was still like 5-8 exalts for a good 6L...
Expensive is relative, Searing Touch wasn't worth much before but people have started buying it more and more and Kripp is playing a build which has a Searing Touch as its main weapon(endurance discharge) so the prices are up. Also fucking pillar of god splitting the chance of getting a searing touch so there's less supply. A crappy searing touch isn't particularily expensive though, but a 50+ one with decent roll is like an exalt or so I believe, which is about twice as much as what it was before release I think.

If I could only have this games mechanics in D3 this would be the perfect arpg for me.

Anyone playing on Domination? I wanna make a char there for the challenge but I'd kinda like to start with some decent gems instead of having to level multiple accounts and farm act1 shit, I'd give them back/pay for them once I have the currency. List of what I need, mostly common gems that I would get as quest rewards but like 5-20levels later:

Bear Trap OR Cold Snap
Decoy Totem
Lightning Trap OR Clarity
Added Fire Damage
Enfeeble OR Conversion Trap
Multiple Traps
Trap(the support)
Elemental Proliferation
Elemental Weakness
Purity
Reduced Mana

If someone can provide some/all of these it'd be nice. Also Trapper boots(deerskin unique boots, forgot the name) would be nice, I'd give them back later too.

Well hopefully with its success, the extra cash flow will help them shore up the animations, art and polish. Kindof like how Riot did art fixes over time.

It's already about 90% of the perfect ARPG for me, which makes the other 10% extremely frustrating because it's so fucking terrible that it ruins all the good parts. That 10% being the ungodly amount of RNG faggotry and general stinginess in the loot/crafting system, the inability to sustain mapping because you end up getting 66's as your drops from 75+, and their servers still have desync problems after all this time. I cannot stand how the presence of a 'community' in an ARPG automatically means that it must be nigh impossible to find/create the items you need yourself. Especially in one that is such a pain in the ass when it comes to doing any sort of trading (which is largely the community's fault, and I'm absolutely not suggesting that they should add an AH).

Even if they did something as simple as steal TERA's system for slowly increasing the chance to succeed on things like jewelers and unfusings it would be a massive improvement over what they have now, but that wouldn't help with things like orbs of chance which are equally retarded. The map solution is painfully obvious and has already been suggested countless times by other people: make the range of map drops something like +/-2 from the level of the map you're doing. I was shocked to see people still bitching about the same exact map issues when I started playing again after being away for ~6 months. No idea what they need to do to finally fix desync, but I'd really like to be able to use the skills I want to use (cyclone, for instance) instead of the ones I have to settle for.

Compared to those things, making the animations smoother or whatever it is exactly that people want made more like D3 doesn't even register on my radar.

Yeah, there's a few fundamental issues that they just seem to refuse to fix. Chris claimed that the desync problem was a necessary evil and the inevitable trade-off of hack prevention, which is ridiculous because no other game has this problem. Still, they appear to feel that it's as good as it'll get, so the constant lag and desyncing is just something one has to endure.

I suspect the map unsustainability is intended so as to make high-level maps a rare luxury, and now that it's supposedly possible to level to 100 anywhere in A3 merciless and onwards, that's not as big of an issue as it used to be. Playing exclusively solo self-found, I'm almost 84 after pretty much just running Piety and 66 maps for three weeks. Before 1.0.0, I'd never get past the mid-70s or something this way, but it seems like I can get to 90+ without trouble now.

The crafting randomness is a real bitch and is the main reason self-found play is ultimately not really viable. You can spend a hundred chaos orbs on an item and never get a decent roll, and it's straight up impossible to really craft a great item without trading constantly. Those top tier items tend to take 30+ exalts and eternal orbs, and I find maybe two exalts a month and have never found an eternal orb. Even if you do trade, the currency system is so random and wasteful, and there's just something incredibly demoralizing about wasting weeks worth of orbs on nothing because you weren't lucky.

I've played PoE on and off since closed beta, and every single time I've quit, it's been because I'd saved up a bunch of currency and tried to craft something only to end up with literally nothing because of RNG. It's blatantly weighted in favor of never giving the player anything useful, getting something out of it takes such an absurd amount of resources that accomplishing it without constant trading is just completely unrealistic. The amount you have to spend just to get into 72+ maps is insane, people are pouring 30+ chaos orbs per day into just rolling maps which very often dead-ends and then you have to start over from scratch. Really bizarre system.

The game has a few fundamental concepts that are absolutely fucking amazing, like some of the best I've ever seen in a lifetime of gaming. The passive skill tree, the idea of currency objects instead of money, the itemization and stats and so on. These basic ideas are phenomenal, but the execution is often terrible. It's actually scary how big of a gap there is between concept and execution in this game, but the concept is so incredibly good that the game is enjoyable despite the frankly miserable problems one has to deal with.

I've played this for awhile and I find it amazing people complained to no end about shit loot in D3 and there is AS much shit loot in this game but most people didn't care. Rerolling items just makes the randomness even worse in my opinion and I think Blizz is taking it the smart way where you can do self found completely and it be completely viable due to their new loot system. Yes I am totally in love with the passive tree and how it changes your character to play tons and tons of different play styles, but god damn if the desync and piled of garbage loot make me mad.

By the way next time I hear someone bitch about how you ran the same shit in D3 over and over while spamming docks and piety can suck a nut.

The only thing i wish they would change is to let the camera zoom out another 20% or so from your character. Feels super claustrophobic to me.

I've played PoE a bunch since the early beta. I've played probably 15 characters through merciless, always retiring them when they finish the storyline in the early 60's. PoE is an amazing game, which I've always recommended to friends highly based on my experiences.

For the release, me and a friend made new characters again and played them through the story, but this time we kept going with maps. Doing so has really brought the game down some in my eyes. We ran something like 30 maps over the past few days, and through all that, we found nothing worth mentioning. Lots of rares, one level 16 unique, but no meaningful upgrades. Both of us are still wearing the gear we had in our 50s, even though we're level 72. Both of us only have 4 links, no 5 or 6 even after using up all the currency earned while leveling.

Because the only way togetgear is to craft it. Find a 6L and roll it to get good stats. Finding unique items seems trivial to me and I've played through a few times.
