The lab is contrary to what an ARPG should be which is kill shit, get loot, kill shit better. Instead you kill shit for your helmet then you have to go into this horribly repetitive environment where your only goal is to run past every mobile you see until you kill the boss and pray you get the enchant you want. The rewards for the lab just simply aren't there in a real tangible sense instead you are just constantly running it praying you jackpot and get an enchant that is actually worthwhile for your toon. But you aren't really obtaining loot or currency in the process. It feels extremely out of place.
I consider the enchants to be a luxury, since they don't enable anything specific, just give you an inch, but if you feel the need to run that thing day in day out, I understand how it's a terrible chore. As far as ascendancy goes, I found running the labyrinth on my first 2 chars for the ascendancy point a pretty sweet experience, since those 2 points can make you godly. Who knows how I will feel another 10 chars later, but it makes you think a bit about gearing and skill choices just to get you to the end.

I don't generally support newbies begging for gear, but I think quite a few people in the guild on SC can throw away a LOT of gear they have sitting around in those 1 alch/alt/chaos/fuse tabs.

Is your character considerably weaker ? Since I vaporize fucking everything with CoC Quill Rain in t10 maps that doesn't have reflect, including bosses. I have no idea how I would fare in t15 maps, but that's GGG design for you - 5 layers of RNG. There was even a post on poe reddit from a guy detailing how they made hundreds/thousands of chaoses by enchanting blank ilvl 84 helmets and selling those so people could craft their own helmets and you know something it's bullshit when this game's crafting has less RNG.

Even that has problems since it is just assuming because I have a Rat's nest means I'm using a green gem. Or possibly I want to buff a blue curse or something. So if I really want to buff Vulnerability on my Rat's Nest now I have an even less of a chance of getting that. My favorite suggest by far was do something similar to Diablo3 when you modify an item where it gives you 3 options to choose from.

I want Reave AOE. Sure popping Vaal Reave will give me 8 Reave stacks and that is already gigantic but even more AOE means even faster clear speed. I don't need individual 1v1 power exactly but any AOE buffs means buffed clear rates.

and yeah, if in guild, don't forget you can rely on the guild bank or try just asking. (no tabula, but I do have 5 links sitting around. And 2 pages of unique "in case I want to alt". I don't throw them all in guild, in case I might use it. Although if anyone specifically asked, I would generally hand it over.
I prefer Scion, but it's mainly a case of not wanting anything melee. I play melee heroes exclusively in Marvel Heroes, so I want something ranged here. I like the idea of CoC, but I think I have to play something else first because the good builds use a 5-6L Quill Rain and a Kaom's. Anyway, the build a_skeleton_03 linked looks interesting so I think I'll try that and worst case I use it to farm currency to buy my way into a CoC build.

Not in guild, I haven't played the game in years and just got talked into trying it again. Is it still active? (PSC)

The one linked is fun and has the added bonuses that you just drop death clouds out at edge of the screen and then just hear mobs die and loot drop.

Sitting at 300% item rarity now and it definitely is noticeable.

Vorph - I just put a few decent items for that build in the last tab of the guild stash on softcore. Grab them and put them in your stash so someone doesn't accidentally use them.

Some interesting thoughts from Chris Wilson. I guess nobody is surprised to hear that the perandus mobs were added like 1 week before launch

I also imagine that them noticing people like to actually play when they can get gear cheap and fast becomes a good clue about what the game needs.

The engine seems to handle particle effects poorly as it is I don't know what was going through their minds adding like a 100 mobs on the screen at one time with a million particle effects

He said that they were loading particle effects on the fly IIRC which caused the freezes and that going forward they will test new stuff on weaker configs (which is like ...duh, you are a bloody F2P game ?!) Still I get like 20 fps playing last parts of a4 and in perandus packs on my laptop with SSD.

I found interesting how they have to keep in mind the average player only makes it to brutus, I guess that's why the last few leagues had the specific content show up before that and on the other hand they see a lot of people who barely scratched merciless/mapping/endgame maps make it much further or roll multiple characters this league. I'm one of those, probably first league in a year where I will get 36/40, only 9 more to go. It's pretty obvious that while the whales keep the game alive, opening it to masses will make it thrive a lot more.

I still think there are some glaring omissions, like the balance between party/solo is seriously out of whack and whoever though disconnects dropping your party has never done a rotation in their life. Same goes for party icons only appearing when you are in the same zone. The endgame loot could use some pruning since even with some aggressive filtering you end up with a lot of crap and picking it up really is a chore when you can blast through the whole map in like 4 minutes. D3 greater rifts would be much more preferable.

Also their UI and chat is still a steaming pile of crap, but I could rant about that for ages.

It won't be in standard in its current form, but it might come back either as flashback league, or in zana, both of which are very likely imo. They mentioned that they want to be careful with how much they increase the average item acquisition rate - basically they would have to nerf him.

They don't plan to make it perma but he said the next league will offer another form of "gift" items. Honestly it's a great listen.

Sadly, every config is 'weak' when you're still using DX9 in 2016. The game seems to be almost entirely CPU bound because they are unable to take advantage of DX10-12 features that offload a ton of shit that used to have to be done on the CPU to the GPU. Particles in particular are something that DX9 sucked at.
