Hey guys. So I've never gotten a char past 90 before. But I'm done pretty well on it this season 30% through 91. I was wonder for this that have. What tier maps did you guys find the most efficient? I'm right now I'm chaining 7, 8, 9 quick with almost no deaths.

Anyone have any mortal sets they aren't running and want to sell? I have plenty of hopes all of a sudden but need the 3 less rare portions. Also if anyone needs the challenges inside of Atziri's map I can run anyone through for them, loot is all yours also.

Try to avoid all deaths, since they get rather costly at this point and push the map levels a bit, basically you will want the highest tier you have with mods that you can do.

I have at least two sets of normal fragments if you want to run them and carry me. I've never done the fight.

Cruising through the levels with a Voltaxic spark/Vaal spark build. I'm using ZiggyD's guide which he made for hardcore and I tweaked it some for softcore. When I pop Vaal spark it literally melts everything into purple puddles including the map bosses. One time I died while fighting a boss and the poison killed it after I died. The piercing adds additional damage and if any mobs are in a hallway, corridor or tight enclosed area they are getting hit several times by the same spark. It's probably the most powerful cheapest build I ever played. Here a link to his guide.

When I pop Vaal spark it literally melts everything into purple puddles including the map bosses. One time I died while fighting a boss and the poison killed it after I died. Yeah, that shit is crazy, doubly so when you don't have to worry about reflect and I wonder if or how is GGG going to nerf it. Probably through the pierce interaction or the projectile damage.

Lightning Coil probably needs to be nerfed as well after this league. Or maybe its just a manifestation of Cadrio flooding the market with the things. But once I equipped it on my toon I went from ripping when I mobile looked at me funny to face tanking.

Or they may go the extreme and nerf chaos damage in general. There's no maps or mobs (mobs maybe?) that has chaos resistance so they just get raped by chaos damage. All they gotta do is have maps that roll % of chaos resistance.

In the podcast with Wilson he said they really didn't want Chaos to just feel like another elemental. I feel if you start diluting Chaos' uniqueness it suddenly becomes that.

It would be interesting if they did something with it as you go up in tiers, since chaos resist is mostly a luxury stat, but some bosses rape your ass with chaos damage (hi museum trio). If all mobs did a % of chaos damage as you want up as a kind of "corruption" you could see some nice interactions. Or just mix in chaos damage mobs, so CI/Shav doesn't trivialize the endgame.

Anyway I think the game needs some UI polish:

1) Combat log. Figuring out how and why you died without some kind of Shadowplay is impossible.
2) Disconnect doesn't kick you from a party or even the map. Punishing people for mapping with full party is stupid. Also make the party UI not terrible.
3) Drop the master grind, it's not fun to do it every fucking league.
4) Limit how the people can screw each other. Let people sell their crafting bench uses for money, same for portals instead of giving them money and hope they aren't dicks.
5) Some actual graphic options would be nice - the game doesn't even have a gamma slider and digging through files to adjust details is straight out of console ports.

They should also adjust how map rolls work, right now the ideal map is like ele weakness/Enfeeble/vulnerability/totems, reflect preferably not depending on your build and you give zero fucks about the rest.

Polish and PoE are usually not going together. Its funny the two games I play are PoE and Blizzard games and the two are almost completely opposed fundamentally to the game design. PoE lacks any form of hand-holding, is new player hostile, explains absolutely nothing and is complicated intentionally. Then you have Blizzard games which feature 100 polish passes before the public ever sees it, makes things new player accessible and tends to dumb things down to a fault. Just an interesting observation.

Its not chaos damage alone that is causing the OP portion of the meta its the double dipping with support gems tagged AoE, mine, projectiles, or trap. By double dipping what people mean is that the initial hit gets a multiplicative boost and then subsequent links depending on what they are can add more multiplicative boosts. You are taking a skill that normally would only get boosted on one front (spell damage) and giving a multiplicative boost to the Skill + Trap + Poison as one example.

Sometimes GGG does these meta shifts very calculated and sometimes its just players being creative. Either way things are always getting nerfed into oblivion in PoE, it keeps the game fresh imo and just shifts the power. I used to think the world was ending every nerf but now I appreciate that it shifts power to an entire new set of skills, tree points, and playstyle.

No, it actually makes perfect sense, it took me like 2 years to finish merciless, I always started hating the game way before that with desync, but the core power fantasy where you see your character grow from smacking a zombie for your first skill into a demigod vanquishing whole screens with a snap of a finger is really good. Blizzard lets it go for as long as you wish, but your growth in the latter half is mostly quantitative: +Gooderer so to speak, where switching an item in PoE lets you change a flask, which lets you adjust your tree, which lets you ... However you can also brick the character in case you don't feel like a following a guide or double checking your math. Blizzard excels at removing as many "failure states" from their games as possible, giving them the appeal for the mass audience, but it often leaves less maneuvering room for the hardcore players.

I like the way PoE works because the game, at least to me, is contained in 3 month blocks. Chaos is OP right now (and you could argue last league) but that'll get nerfed some new uniques will be added and suddenly something else will be OP. It lets me try out different stuff without having to play the same build every league. So far I've "mained" flame totem, Fire->Chaos firestorm trapper, Inspired Learning reaver and Earthquake. I just leveled up a crit arc so we'll see how that goes. The OP to nerfed into oblivion meta every league really does keep things fresh.

Also if anyone has some gloves with Elemental Weakness on Hit I'm interested. I know they're usually expensive and I'm kind of poor right now. I've been trying to buy cheap Maligaro's and Vaaling them but no luck so far.

If GGG is kind and lets me finish my 36 achievements, (vaal bosses/lab bullshit/zana 8) I think I'll just give away my stuff since I'm getting ready to stop playing.
