Any tips/links to a fast farming build (that doesnt make a 4 year old computer cry uncle)?

Im enjoying the game alot, i started a summoner yesterday, got him up to 25 with a minion build but in act2 the game hiccups when he spawns skellies =/

Just want a char first for easy gear runs then i can settle in and take it easy

Checked the web and theres a temp LS build but people say its slow

Would mess around but game is kind of unforgiving on gimpy builds

So I'm trying to buy an Eye of Chayula. From what I can tell the 'market price' is 1ex(so 6ish GCPs). I look and there's about 30 people selling chayulas. On Friday I posted an offer of 3gcps on the most recent 6 shops and got no response (Nor did they sell it to anyone else. One guy asked me for four, I said I'd get back to him later, when I did he said the price changed to 6 *rolls eyes*).

I'm going to try the same strategy again, but this is the least efficient market in a game I've ever been a part of. People horde gear so much in this game it's incredible.

People horde currency just as much as loot. Everybody is greedy. Guy probably would've taken 4 because he just wanted to move it fast and stopped caring when that didn't happen so raised to the 'market price'.

Unless of course by "least efficient" you meant that it's harder to just trade your way into being the best geared char in the game through constant undercutting/flipping.

Yeah I agree that people horde currency.

When I say least efficient I mean that people are likely to horde currency and loot. I think almost every person in the game, including me, has a stash full of currency they can't be hassled to spend and a stash full of gear no one can be hassled to purchase.

I ended up buying an eye of chayula for 4gcps and one 'mystery orb' (Any orb I wanted to give, lol. I picked scouring).

Now time to buy boots, yay...

Anyone have any tips on bow builds, specifically lightning arrow/rain of arrows? I've tried a RA build with a Marauder, and a LA build with a Ranger in hardcore and my main problem seems to be that between these 3 things:
1) HP/survivability
2) DPS
3) Mana to sustain attacking for a few seconds

That I can only seem to get 2 of those things up through the ~mid 50s in levels(highest I've been in hardcore before dieing). Obviously I'm going to keep taking lots of health nodes in hardcore to fulfill#1, but it seems like either my DPS is severely lacking but I can maintain constantly attacking through use of clarity, or if I beef up my DPS, the mana requirements are just way too high, I'm out of mana after a couple attacks. My mana pool as a whole is pretty small as a bow using character, and the multipliers on some of the gems I need for decent DPS are pretty damn high(200% for chain, 170% for added weapon elemental damage, etc). I guess the answer could be blood magic gems, but devoting 2 red gem slots(blood magic + life leech/on hit) then only leaves me 2 other slots on a 4-chain, which then leaves me at low DPS again.

I guess my issues would probably be lessened with a 5L or 6L bow/chest, but that's easier said than done. I'm generally working with 4L gear, as I don't want to invest a ton of resources into gear that I might lose pretty quickly.

Obviously I could also carry 3-4 mana flasks to support a high DPS/high cost build, but that really limits my survivability with health/quicksilver/granite flasks.

Also, I guess getting to merciless to get some reduced mana gems as quest rewards would also help, but I have yet to get there, I need some advice for before that point, which is where I'm struggling and kind of hitting a wall.

Do a LA Marauder with Blood Magic and spec out of BM once you get decent enough gear and run % auras with your mana.

Its just a pain in the ass trying to find an item, then getting in contact with the owner of said item, and then haggling to get the item at a fair price. I'm also guilty of hording currency and items (although a lot of what I horde I have planned for alt chars, but I could certainly sell some stuff for sure), and I think it comes down to it just being really annoying trying to trade in this game. I think the game would certainly benefit if it had....dare I say it....an auction house where people can buy, sell, and place bids on items for IN GAME CURRENCY. Having to post all your shit you want to sell in a forum post and then having to use a separate website to do a search for specific items within that forum is not a good method.

Yep.

I've heard talk of them implementing a web-based auction house and implementing offline trading (Which I'm guessing would be like WoW's email system where you can send someone an item and require a gold payment for receipt of that item), but that's all just inefficient forms of an auction house.

I just want to play the fucking game and hope they put in an auction house.

On topic of the AH, I remember them Talking about Creating an item you could use to be able to set up your own Player made shop, And you could go to an area and Browse thru others shops, Could be a better alt to what they have going on now with the trade chan/Forum.

there's so much to like about this game -- but i don't like how it feels (clunky). also i find it visually confusing: environment and mobs just blend in together.

The game feels clunky on low levels because animations are performed standing still. At low levels, your animations are slow, so it feels clunky.

After a while, you'll get much better at spotting mobs quickly and easily. You're right though, the visual design is focused more towards good looks than practicality.

BAH, I need to take a break from hardcore for a while. After losing my last level 52 character I was rushing to level up another and ended up getting my next noob character killed at level 19, while still wearing all my low-level uniques and stuff that I use for quick leveling, so lost all of those too. Goddamnit.

I finally put my finger on it, hardcore PoE gives me the same feeling as getting PKed in Ultima Online back in the day. Once you get over the insane anger and frustration of losing all your shit, you can't wait to jump right back in the next day.
