Oh shit, I just got a helm I sold for 80chaos. I'm rich...ish. At least rich for me.
There any obvious upgrades I'm missing here besides just more +betterer rares for my gloves/boots/belt/hat etc? I think I'm just gonna buy another Divinarius for my other weapon, as they seem to be real cheap.

Yeah, but how often do you die? Personally, I hate dying in PoE, even on softcore, it wastes a shitload of time, so to me even 40% more damage isn't worth dying for. Probably why I like HC so much, forces you to have a build that can run most or every map mod safely.

You need to get rid of the Carnage Heart, new gloves, boots, and helm. Since you're cursing yourself, you should pick up a well rolled Self-Flagellation (edit: woops, missed it in the tree), but tbh I'd drop the Soul Mantle, pick up a Cloak of Defiance and Mind Over Matter, ditch the Kikazaru's for an Essence Worm, and save up for an Arc chains an additional time enchant.

Depends on the build, generally very rarely unless I deliberately play something retarded squishy like Windripper with full MF shit. I almost never try to go past 90 without a real 6L though.
Fortunately the builds I'm loving these days don't need a 6L chest at all so I won't have to worry about it either way. Kaom's if I go Agony/Duo again / Shav's that only needs to be 4L2L if I try the LL version without HoAg instead.

There's a 5% xp penalty and then a 10% xp penalty once you beat act 10 you will run into. Levels 1-90 are super easy for anyone experienced and it doesnt matter but it starts to sting around 96 and then it gets into hours per death wasted at 97+.

Nah, you just need some levels and experience. That character can do Atziri as is right now, but it'll be harder due entirely to character and gem levels. Take that same character back with no gear upgrades at 90 and watch shit melt.

Windripper with MF shit generally has less than 4k life. I can still get around 6k with a TR usually.

I'm not sure I'd call it a cheapo poet's pen. Just a different poet's pen. Assuming they don't nerf it, PP is for builds that use a utility trigger. Sure, you can use CoC with PP, but how often do you think frenzy is going to hit and then crit in a typical PP build?
I think you'll see Mjolnir/Cospri's Malice paired with CoC rivaling current PP power. Someone remind me, dual wielding Mjolnir or Cospri's Malice is useless because they can't both trigger at the same time like PP can?
