Ok, getting the hang of this game. Im a gold member now, i been playing a little everquest as well, so i said why not. Anyways, when you finally figure out whats gong on for the most part (im still learning). Its pretty damn fun. The back and forth stuff is fun. When you make that push and finally get through, its fun. Reminds me of the Alteric Valley bridge. That shit was a bitch to break into, but once you do, its nice!

Having a blast.

I got br 100 vs connery, 68 tr waterson, 10 tr matherson, 37 nc matherson, and 15 nc waterson. Not rolling another vs but can play those factions. I go where the farm is so i rotate them like a mofo.

Was farming up some dapps in my vanguard with sukik this weekend lol. That tank is god mode with a i win button.

im like at level 6 ir so. Still alot im trying to figure out, but getting there. All the weapon upgrades for each profession is gonna take a while.

When you got like 50 to 50 going on and tanks and ships flying all over, that shit is fun.

Find a good group to play with and it becomes 100x more enjoyable and fun. Plus they can point you in the right direction if you have question.

I have never played a PS game... is it easy to get into it late? Have no idea what the learning curve would be or if it is something you can play semi-casually.

It's very easy to play casually.

It's very easy to play without paying a single dime, but will take longer to fill out more versatile roles.

Learning curve for the game mechanics is pretty linear, but expect to die a lot until you learn the nuances of the game. Someone said earlier (maybe here), the game is less of a twitch fest, and more about planning and positioning which takes a while to learn all the good spots.

Make sure you try out all 3 factions because their weapons/gunplay/vehicles are all very different.

Is there a preferred server/clan/faction whatever from this board? I do not know anyone who's playing... I may be able to talk some friends into giving it a try though.

Most on this board tend to fizzle out, get with Regime he is dedicated as fuck to PS2.

Yeah a few of us are pretty dedicated players. I play on Mattherson, Wed/Thu on Vanu with [GOTR], then the rest of the week lone wolfing it up on a Terran Republic alt BuzzCatPsycho.

If you want, I can give you a grand tour and tl;dr in game. Just PM me or something when you think you'll play.

Really appreciate it. I'm not sure how much of the gameplay and knowledge will be transferrable but was wanting to get into the genre a bit before Destiny. Really just looking for some fun, action gaming. Not sure if PS2 is the answer but people have told me it has some solid fun factor and relatively strategic.

Only start playing if you're on voice comms (not in-game, direct voice comms) with someone who can show you the ropes. Someone who has the patience to answer the 2-3 hours of newbie questions that you'll constantly be asking.

It's not necessarily a difficult game to understand, but it's not as straightforward as most veterans think it is.

I think it's a lot of fun for a lot of time. I think I topped out around BR75, played NC at release with Ht (who merged to become OO) on Connery.

Meh in game coms are just good enough for pug/lonewolfing. The real srs players will have TS3 set up though if you join a clan or want to play with them.

Regime and myself have mains on Connery VS, but we have chars we play on other servers as well. Add me on steam "Hekotat" I play quite a bit.

Started playing last night, even killed quite a few people (angel of death lookin motherfuckers lol) just mashing instant action as an engineer. I thought the turrets wouldn't have to be manned to work, turns out they do :p. Repaired all kinds of shit, ammo was annoying to drop for people compared to games like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory but w/e.

Great game so far, its really something.

I went VS on... Matherson I think... or Waterson (f my brain spent 5 hours removing a virus from Windows 8.1)... wouldn't mind finding some pals.

Yeh I'm on Matherson. I'd rather stick to US East servers because I am a huge ping nazi (from my team fortress: classic sniping days).

I usually flip classes depending on the situation, you really want a shitload of certs at first so you can start unlocking stuff so it's best you stick to medic or engi. Medics have the best guns and you can just follow people around til you get the jist of what's going on.
