The original Remaster excuse was "games on systems that are too old or no longer available" and then they extended that to PS3 games cause it had a different architecture but now they're doing it to perfectly fine HD era games on the PS4 as a different excuse to force PSN requirements.

That's why I always loved 360 backwards compatibility on Xbox and the way they can enhance older games there. I can only think of a few PS4 games I got on my PS5 that play in an enhanced way, and they are the type of thing where you basically have to know or do your research because Sony doesn't tell you shit on their store listings for those games. They are definitely worse than Microsoft when it comes to trying to force people into their paid subscriptions and modern re-releases.

Yeah, if it hadn't been redone for the 'modern audience' I might've considered it at $30 or maybe even $40. $70 ($80 if you just had to play it a couple days early) is utterly insane though. This is not a Demon's Souls-tier remake by a longshot. The gameplay is good, and there's quite a bit of QOL changes, but that's about it. And despite what people say about Angela looking better in the launch trailer, she still looks like a CURRENT_YEAR tranny-friendly abomination in the actual game with settings maxed.

Also, the performance is just straight up abysmal. I forced frame-gen on in the ini in order to get ray-tracing to be playable, but even though I'm averaging over 100 fps, I'm getting 99th% drops all the way down to 30, sometimes even lower. (Forcing on frame gen that the game wasn't intended to use isn't the problem either; with it off it does the same thing except it's 50-60 fps average and still drops to mid-20's.)

I've always had terrible TVs. During covid, I bought a Hisense u8G or something. It was cheap but rtings put it at a decent spot. It was ok but we had a lot of issues with it. Storage problems, verrrrry slow UI, wifi problems. And finally... This is a pure white video.

So I said fuck it, I'll buy something decently nice. Got a Samsung S90D (QD-OLED). Its absolutely the best TV I've owned. Not top of the line but really nice.

Fired of Ghost of Tsushima and it's like I went from 480P gaming to 4K instantly. It made me want a PS5 pro now...

Yeah I also got a Samsung QD-OLED as my primary gaming TV. It's totally worth it to buy something decent like a Samsung, LG, or Sony. Those cheaper brand TV's never seem to hold up.

Astro Bot DLC is out as of yesterday. Speed Run map(s). One being released each Thursday 9am EST the next four weeks for a total of 5 maps. Two new buddies each map and some new gatcha pulls for them.

6 year old did a run and got 57 seconds and was ranked like 108,000 in the world. I gave it a shot and got 41 seconds and bumped us up to 48,000 or so. Record right now is like 27 seconds.

Also supposed to be challenge maps coming out soon too.

and more on their channel. It looks nice. Obviously a PC with a 40xx or upcoming 50xx is even better and will keep your home warm in the winter lol

i have one preordered at gamestop ($50 down), i figure its gonna be good for at least 2-3 years so why not. its shitty of Sony to not include a drive or stand though, jap jew motherfuckers

Not touching this garbage, their price hiked systems and add on, their horrid PS plus subscription service and price hikes, and their DEI infested upcoming first party games.

Series X is plugging along just fine and ultimate gamepass is a way better deal. Play anywhere is awesome and if anything, I’ll ditch the PS5 and everything after and build a new gaming PC.

Since PS3, Sony has been the no-brainer decision for me. That being said, going forward, after the PS5, I'll probably go Microsoft (especially now that The Show is on Xbox also). Sony's trend towards garbage DEI games has absolutely killed the exclusive edge that Sony once had - plus having the 3-year mega cheap GamePass Ultimate helps (although I barely use it).

Yeah between the retarded price and all the ps plus increases maybe it's my last gen with Sony.

I'm not really looking forward to the PS6 costing $1k

Pretty sure the PS5 collecting dust under my desk is the last PS product I'll buy. I've all all of them from the jump (except the pro version of PS4). I was only getting consoles for exclusives , everything on Xbox is on PC now and so is PS.

I dont think Im gonna buy another console ever again. I bought Elden Ring, the Alan Wake remaster and Metaphor for PS5 and that's it. And I've had one since it launched. What a goddamn waste of money.

I basically only play ARPGs these days and XBox play anywhere is cool and all but if I can play on PC I'm just gonna play on PC... the XBox is superfluous at that point

Yea back in the day there were a lot of console exclusives (remember Halo and FF7?) that were considered the best in their genre in any given year. Now all games are shit so it doesn't matter. Only thing I bother with is Nintendo every generation or two for "party" game stuff. But who know how long that lasts with the focus on personal devices and away from couch coop.
