How can you "easily get" that shit when wearing condoms? Sure they aren't 100% but... easily?

I know the HPV strain that has warts as a side effect is transferred through contact. A lot of the time the warts aren't on the actual genitals but just in the area (lower abdomen, etc). Condom only covers so much. It's pretty easy to transmit, that's why HPV is so prevalent (something like ALL sexually active men/women will get a strain of HPV at some point in their life). Luckily it isn't permanent (body kills it off in about 3 to 5 years, I think) and the strain that gives warts isn't the same strain(s) that give cancer. As for as STD's go, HPV is more just an embarrassing cosmetic thing.

Get vaccinated and wear a rubber. That is all you can really do. I am hesitant to say that it isn't very common as long as you are not dumpster diving but from my experience it isn't as common as you think. Granted this is coming from an extremely limited pool (my experience) but I never got an STD and I have been with (ball parking) over 50 women. Keep in mind though that I was RELIGIOUS with wearing rubbers for the one night stands and only removed the jimmy after I was banging the girl on a consistent basis.

Rubbers won't prevent you from getting HPV, and there is no current test for men to detect it I believe. Except for the warts variety, it causes no symptoms in men, however you can pass it on to a woman without knowing you ever even had it.

Eh, just wear a rubber and/or fuck them in the ass. Or if you're really that worried about it don't be promiscuous.

I used to be really fucking stupid about that kind of thing. I would raw dog every girl I slept with every time. Then I woke up one morning with dark blotches all over my head and shaft. Scared the shit out of me thinking it was warts. Turns out it was just broken capillaries because of how aggressive she was with my member and I was completely clean, but that put the fear of the STI gods in me.

I remember in sex ed in HS them hammering home that HPV is smaller than the pores in a condom, "therefore condoms offer no protection against HPV." As I thought about it later, that's probably a huge lie, as surely every virus molecule isn't lying it wait ready to jump through every pore. It probably means condoms are very helpful but not fool proof.

I haven't slept with many skanks, but some. My number's in the 30s and I've only ever got chlamydia from raw dogging a slutty Korean chick. Always used condoms w random Americans

Do a subtle visual inspection if you're worried

Ya I raw dogged quite a few nasties back in the 90's and never picked up the warts, but did get the herps. 20 years later, might get one or two outbreaks a year tops and they are very mild. Still sucks having to have the "talk" with potential mates, but it's really not a huge deal, and the last three that I've admitted it to, also had it, lol. It's always nice being the first one to come clean about it.

So how do you Tinder/similar site veterans avoid getting shit like genital warts (HPV) when you hook up with randoms? Considering you can still easily get shit like that even when using condoms. I'm trying to gauge the danger level of using this shit for hook ups.
Its the risk you take when you want random hookups.

You deal with it, I've got "the herps", as TheBeagle calls it no warts ever though, symptoms aren't too bad, I've had it about 3 years. Once caught a UTI that I thought was chlamydia at first but test came back negative and azithromycin cleaned it up super quick... But I've definitely done dumpster diving compared to most guys. My number is around 75 at this point. You get tested.. You pray you don't get anything worse. Don't "ever" bang addicts or former addicts without a condom, a chick is more likely to be honest with you about past drug use than she is about her sexual history, they're significantly more likely to have the "really bad" shit like hep c or hiv if they've ever done anything that could be injected. Bring up the subject of drugs in a way that she'll try to "brag" to you about using drugs in the past to make herself sound "cooler"

WTF?? HPV has several strains, including anal warts; sad story, back in my teens I was... promiscuous with older men (I'm gay), just one encounter this guy penis had a wart but I didn't realize it and he just used 'the tip', when I went to put the condom I saw it and told him to GTFO.

But, that's all it took, contact, almost a year later I had Condyloma (Genital wart - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia- WARNING GRAPHIC) and had to get surgery to get it fixed. That's the day I realized I had to stop with the hooking up everyday shit, is not worth it.

This is on honest question so please don't take it as gay bashing or whatever. Is STD's more rampant with homosexual men because there isn't a chance of getting the other person knocked up and thus fewer people use rubbers? Is it due to men being more promiscuous then women? Or is it the same / not as predominant as heterosexual sex and I have my presumptions all wrong?

Anal sex also has a higher chance of transmitting STIs in the first place, though a fair portion of homosexual hook-ups are oral only. The question you've asked is pretty complicated, actually. With HIV being basically treatable, condom use has declined, which increases the transmission of other infections. Sero sorting is a thing (hooking up only with people who have the same strain of HIV as you do), which again causes the spread of other infections. There is a lot of casual sex due to apps now and while not all homosexual men use them, the ones that do have much higher rates of infection. The UK has called the infection rate in their homosexual population a "crisis."

The infection rates are a lot higher. Anecdotally and from the studies I've read, it is mostly a lack of education and the fact that, yes, men are more promiscuous.

It's that men are more promiscuous, conversely, lesbians have very few stds. Not all stds spread with 100% guaranteed transmission rates either. So The prostitute with hiv that bangs 100 people in a given year, probably only infects 3 people more each year.

Don't worry; when you're in your teens you are a horny fuck, for gay teenagers with access to things like grindr (think tindr but more of 'who's close that want to fuck now') you can get access to sex really, really easily; everytime I show my friends grindr they are AMAZED how fast I can setup a hookup, a few minutes with someone close is all its needed. Having said that, yes, when you're younger you definitely don't think anything can happen to you and also for gay kids growing up we are definitely fed with the 'gay sex is wrong' so we are least likely to go into a pharmacy and get condoms, or let people know, so a lot of them are forced into secret, quick hookups (think teenagers and say older married closeted men).

I learned my lessons through fire, HPV from CONTACT hookup, didn't know it was possible; gonorrhea from receiving an oral job (IT CAN HAPPEN! I had no idea, I thought oral sex was very safe), and even crabs.

I don't see how being a gay teen would be more of a reason to be embarrassed to buy condoms then a straight teen as all the pharmacists / other workers / customers see is a boy buying rubbers. I can see the whole catholic guilt aspect of it, but the actual buying of rubbers shouldn't be any different. Today some grocery stores have them locked up and you have to go ask for a key. Are they fucking retarded. No kid is going to do that shit. I will say this though, if the internet was in full swing back in the day and the rubbers came packaged like they do now in the mail, I would have stolen a LOT LESS in my day and just bought them online.

You assume the fear is rational. Kids having straight sex are often afraid to buy condoms and straight sex is basically OK, even though kids are told not to do it. Homosexual kids? Forget about it.

You got the clap from receiving a BJ? Wow, that one's news to me.
Yes. Gonorrhea can live in the throat and be asymptomatic (Gonorrhea Symptoms in the Mouth STD Panels Center) it really sucks because when you're blowing someone you don't really want to be tasting latex.

Pretty much, I was raised in South America, in a very Catholic setting (Think Opus Dei) and the thought of being 'caught' with anything gay was complete HORROR for me, so getting condoms and then having people talk about me getting condoms (small town) or getting caught drove me to have unprotected, quickie, hidden sex. Thankfully I wasn't that much of a whore and I didn't catch something like HIV, but I did get HPV which also stays with you for life.

One of my best friends did catch HIV and moved to Canada, the Canadian government granted him asylum due to the religious prosecution he faced in my home country (venezuela), he wrote several op-ed pieces on a local newspaper calling on the church hypocrisy, so he got fired and was harassed. Homophobia is real and bad everywhere.
