Argument from Authority fallacy. I don't need to have my legs blown off to tell people to avoid land mines. Similarly, I don't have to be married and divorced to tell people to avoid divorce.

One of my plates started demanding more and more of my time and I didn't want to settle down. So I dropped her. She didn't take it well. I realized after the break up that I was in love with her. I spent some time reflecting on the reality of what I'd done, how my behavior had hurt someone else and how living that way wasn't right for me. It wasn't who I wanted to be or what I wanted to do.

Nah, nothing to be ashamed about. I've been practicing what I preach. Making the most of my time. Working, spending time with family, working on side projects to turn my hobbies into ways to make money.

This last month I've been struggling with nihilism and depression. I spent a lot of time exploring Taoism (ignoring the supernatural elements) and listening to Alan Watts lectures on youtube.

I'm in a good place, and far less arrogant and zealous than I was.

A forum warrior has something to argue over, to prove or to justify. I'll pass. Trying to convince the forums that they're wrong is arrogant and wasteful. You cannot change someone that does not want to change, even if you know they'll be better off for it.

Re-reading this thread, I've been acting like an asshole for the last year. Hell, probably the last decade I've posted here.
